It's Derby Day!!!!

With Eskendereya out, this race appears to be wide open. The track currently is a mess, but it looks to be clearing up. The "experts" even expect a fast track by Derby time. Will Todd Pletcher's filly become the first winner for Pletcher, and the first filly since Winng Colors in 1988 to win the Derby. or will see end up like tragic 2nd place finisher Eight Belles? (I really hope not.) Will Baffert's horse Lookin at Lucky return Bob to the top of the game? Calvin Borel, the winner of last year's Derby Calvin Borel rode 50-1 shot Mine That Bird to an upset, can he do the same with mild longshot Super Saver? Randy Moss (the analyst, not the receiver) just called it the weakest field in about 25 years. Other owners includeformer Yankee manager Joe Torre, and weight losss mogul Jenny Craig, can their horses bring them their first Derbies? Analysis, prognostications, and fake wagers here!!!!

fake wagers? I have to come up with my real wager. I liked Conveyance but it seems the rest of my family are betting that one....so now I'm looking for a different bet.

Parents are at Pimlico today, avoiding the craziness of Churchill Downs, but watching some horse racing and with the ability to place bets for other tracks, my Derby bet will be placed....once I figure out what it is.

I'm just happy NBC hasn't creamed themselves because there's a horse with Sidney in its name.

One of these days I'm going to get down there for this. I hear its about equal parts SEC football tailgate, NASCAR weekend and Mardi Gras.

Last year the horse I picked to win finished last. Let's see if I can repeat. This year my money is on Stately Victor.

I like Super Saver, but only for the obvious reason.

I got an exacta box with the 4 and 1. And I have the 4 to win.

That would be a fair assessment. I've been invited by friends to go down there. From what I understand it's equal parts debauchery and senanicans.
