It's 106 miles to Chicago: Hosted by Old Pio

Some entrepreneur will open an ammo store just outside the Cook County limits.

Edited my posed because it kicked in June 1st not July 1st.

And no doubt that will happen. Gas stations built in neighboring counties right on the county line all advertise cigarettes as "No Cook County Taxes!"

With cooler weather moving into the Chicagoland region, the shootings and murders should start to see a slower pace.

Shot & Killed: 29
Shot & Wounded: 143
Total Shot: 172
Total Homicides: 33

Year to Date

Total Homicides: 531

Current leaderboard:

Chicago tries to one up Flint .

To be Flint, it would only have to be a problem on the South Side. Then officials could just ignore it. Since it's happening in parks that are within wealthy (white) areas though, that means it has to be fixed.

EDIT: If it had been Grand Blanc's water supply that had the lead contamination, you can be d@mn sure Snyder would've already been impeached for ignoring the reports, and the EM he appointed would be in prison.

In fairness to the late, not so great Opie who I had my share of disagreements with, the Chicago situation is horrific. I read it has more murders than NY and LA combined, which between them have a total population of 12-13M vs 2 and a half or so in Chicago. If NY and LA could get a handle, relatively, on the situation so too should that city. Never liked Rahm Emmanuel who doesn't seem to be any good at any public office he's ever held.

Horror of the lack of concern. We've become desensitized To the slaughter.

Since everyone decries this violence, your constant repetition of these stories sends a different message. "Blackies in Democratic city are rampaging! Hide the white women!!! We need more cops!!!"

Yes, I'm sure that never once occurred to you it would be taken that way.

Gawd, but your cynical meter is turned way up today. 700 people are projected to be gunned down in Chicago and you're making this about race?

The same level of horror should be exhibited if the events took place in Salt Lake City.

Joe: for stats, go to heyjacka**.com. No, seriously, they do a darn good job of updating the statistics for gun violence and other violence in the city.

Also a handy map to show that these incidents are mostly self contained to a few neighborhoods. Don't let that church article scare you, that was prime 'hood area (Austin neighborhood).

The hood or in Mayor Rahm's back yard, 700 is still too much. Or, as Joe Stalin said, has it become a statistic?

Funny how you manage to bring this up just after Trump retweets a nazi saying the same thing.

Funny how two men got gunned down on a Sunday on their way to church. Funny how it looks like 700 people will be gunned down in Chicago this year.

Oh yeah, just a barrel of laughs! Wake up! We're devouring our seed corn!
