Is It Time For Cc To Fire Scott Owens?

Re: Is It Time For Cc To Fire Scott Owens?

CC may be tough accademically, but they do have block classes, which are very attractive to student athletes. I remember back when UAA wanted Scotty Gomez to come to UAA, he was considering CC mainly because of those block classes.

People here want UAA to hold off on firing Shyiak until they see how he does in the nWCHA. I'd say the same for Owens.

Re: Is It Time For Cc To Fire Scott Owens?

“In some areas, I was happy,” said Tigers’ coach Scott Owens. “I thought Joe Howe played well. I thought our penalty killing was pretty good. Our overall team defense was decent. We just didn’t pay the price to generate more scoring chances.”

You have to be f-u-c-k-i-n-g kidding right Scott? You are without question the worst coach of all time. CC fans it's time...you know it is...get on the phone and start calling the AD and the Board of Trustees. It's now time to
FIRE SCOTTY OWENS!!!!

Re: Is It Time For Cc To Fire Scott Owens?

Well I genuinely feel bad for anyone who was foolish enough to renew his/her/their season tickets for this miserable Tiger campaign. At 1-6-1 with an overtime shootout loss I have to wonder how bad Ken Ralph and the fan base are going to let it get before a much needed coaching change is made at CC. Despite a nice late season run last year, CC had their worst season under Owens, until of course, this year. Face it Tiger Fans, CC is trending toward the Mike Bertsch era again. They are the worst team in the NCHC and one of the worst in the country.

FIRE SCOTTY OWENS!!!!!!
FIRE HIM ASAP!!!!!!!!!

Forgive me for intruding on your fire the coach discussion (lord knows I can relate after many years of "Fire Pooley" and "Fire Army"). We are planning to visit in January when Providence College plays at CC. Could I ask for some information about attending games at World Arena. What would you recommend for seating for a first time visitor? Which teams shoot at which ends, etc.? Food options? Pregame activities? We are looking to maximize the experience.

I might be imposing here (especially since at this rate, as a DU fan, I'm happy for Scott Owens to stick around)... And I'm not from the Springs, but there's lots to do there, in the mountains, and along the Front Range.

As far as the World Arena goes, visitors shoot opposite the CC student section. With the big ice, it's not a bad deal to sit up high on the ends, you can see the whole rink that way. The corners (like 110, 115) can be pretty good if you're up high too. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the arena (I'm also biased), but they do have lots of good, local brews on tap for around $4, maybe the best concession deal in sports. They certainly get that part right, unlike at Magness Arena .

The Colorado Springs area has some neat attractions. Pike Peak, of course. Garden of the Gods, the Air Force Academy, the US Olympic Training Center, and the Broadmoor (which used to be a huge part of college hockey). Denver's also close enough to consider doing stuff around here for your trip, lots of good restaurants and activities here, too. Museum of Nature and Science, Denver Art Museum, US Mint, not to mention tons of great breweries and restaurants. I don't know much about the restaurant scene in the Springs except for the Broadmoor. You never really know what the weather is going to be like here in Colorado- it could be snowing and cold, or it could be nice enough for a sunny hike. Check the weather right before you come and always bring layers. If you rent a car, so many things are close enough here that you could play it by ear.

Hope you have a great time and mop the floor with the Tigers. Shoot me a PM if you want.

Re: Is It Time For Cc To Fire Scott Owens?

Thanks for the insights HP. We have enjoyed recent visits to the Springs and to Denver. There is certainly much to do. I am really looking forward to these games as it is hard to catch the Friars following our move to the Southwest Corner. Watched some of the Denver game last night and enjoyed seeing our "old friend" Jim Montgomery behind he bench.

Re: Is It Time For Cc To Fire Scott Owens?

Here lies the last known CC fan on this board. I have to say that at 2-10-3 coming into Wisconsin, LackofSuCCess might have a point. However, CC comes off a 1-0-1 weekend against what appears to be a pretty good UNO team. Perhaps it's the beginning of a miracle run?
That CC is better than their record seems certain, but can a team led by this hobbit: <img id="irc_mi" src="http://www.cchockeyschool.com/images2/owens.jpg" style="margin-top: 110px;" class="irc_mut" width="125" height="175"> Hope to win on the road at Wisco?

I think not.

Btw- Gandalf called. Apparently you're wanted in the

SHIRE SCOTTY OWENS!!!!!

Re: Is It Time For Cc To Fire Scott Owens?

Bumping this thread to see if we can get some Tigers fans to report to the SCSU @ CC game thread. I would also encourage Wisko to continue where he left off as I really enjoyed the shtick.
