Iran announces new unilateral "restricted zone" outside the strait
Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, announces Iran will declare a new restricted maritime zone extending from the US naval blockade line into the Persian Gulf. Ships entering without coordinating with Tehran face sanctions affecting insurance coverage and future passage rights. Rezaei calls the strait "completely closed," dismisses US claims of ongoing commercial transits as false, but says Iran will not sink vessels "for now" for environmental reasons. He says Iran and Oman will sign a new corridor agreement "in coming days," with entry and exit points under Iranian control, and claims Iran identified but deliberately withheld strikes on US targets in Jordan and Erbil.

New photos obtained exclusively by CBS News reveal for the first time the widespread damage and destruction of buildings and vehicles at multiple U.S. positions across the Middle East, as a result of Iranian missile and drone attacks.

The images were sent to CBS News by active service members on condition of anonymity because of rigid media restrictions within the military.

"This is major damage to our bases that hasn't been communicated to the American public," one deployed service member told CBS News. "We're standing there with our eyes closed getting punched in the face."
