So yes, if he chooses, he can be a liquid trillionaire. Of course there aren't that many bills readily in circulation, would weigh 11 tons and be enough to fill more than 4 Olympic sized swimming pools, but he's just enough of a narcissist to do it.
Is it too much to hope that he Christopher Reeve's himself when he swan dives into that money bin?

It was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen, with a QR code on screen where you could buy SPCX "without the hassle" of regulatory rules and oversight.

The passive investors are going to be innocent victims. The douchebros who willingly buy in deserve to be the bag holders.
 
But if he cashed out he'd effectively zero the share price, so no he couldn't.
IPO Day is for billing the average investor (subset: dumb people) to enrich the already rich investors who got in during the private offerings. Those people will sell a good cuhunk of their stock. But, like you said, not so much as to harm their full position.

My understanding is they are still working through the backlog. From the IPO auction maybe? I don't know.

First real trade is about to happen about noon ET, which is in 15 minutes.
