Incoming Freshmen for Fall of 2012

Re: Incoming Freshmen for Fall of 2012

Brockport looks like they might finally be making a significant commitment to hockey....

What's the sudden push from Brockport? No matter what it is, it would be nice to have another competitive team in the SUNYAC. It's been tough to watch Brockport, Cortland and Morrisville year after year.

Cortland will never have a strong commitment to hockey. The only players they bring in are guys who are friends with current members on the team. They will continue to be a bottom feeder in the SUNYAC as long as they keep bringing in low-level EJ players and mid-level AJ players.

Finally getting a win over the SUNYACs best program after 28 years will help a little. But in all seriousness with the loss of Cody Finnerty and Wren Im not so sure there will be enough "help" to get them anywheres past a SUNYAC play in game...if that. Keep in mind too, while Morrisville did have a "down" year record wise they have been in a much better posistion to win then Brockport. Cortland?? Not to much. Baldy is a great coach, butIm not so sure Scotty B could grt that team to the top of the ranks. Some really big shoes to fill all around the SUNYAC...except maybe Plattsburgh and Oswego (as usual). Watch out for Buff State....

it will be VERY HARD to replace Cody and Finnerty

Any idea what Nazareth's inaugural class looks like? i've seen a grand total of one commitment from the AJ, and that's about it.

Re: Incoming Freshmen for Fall of 2012

yes as stated b4 have yet to see a Oz recruit, no worries:D......

I'm actually getting a little worried. We do have a ton replace next year and we need to get started on that. I know Eddie keeps his cards close to the vest, but throw us a bone.

the site in post #50, seems to be very good and updated as well.....Im sure all the usual teams will have their guys on there sooner or later, some teams dont tell, but the player or league likes to promoted themselves and it gets to these sites..I think a bunch of players wait until their seasons are over dont think thast has happened yet with a lot of Jr teams???

Re: Incoming Freshmen for Fall of 2012

(Hutchinson) Geneseo

From the posting on the Chilliwack website Hutchinson is the fifth Chief to secure an NCAA scholarship this season. Does an NCAA DIII athletic program offer scholarships?

Sure, as long as they are NOT athletic scholarships* (here is a NESCAC school for example).

*And athletes do NOT get a disproportionate number of them.
