Wow, it's not often I come across someone as blindly apologetic for the U.N. as you. Most people who have been killed in Iraq are U.S. soldiers. It's insulting for you to give the credit for their service to the U.N. But I suppose you consider yourself more of a citizen of the world than a U.S. citizen, eh?

I'd say I appreciate the ultimate sacrifice all have made for a misguided war put upon the world by dumb conservative politicians and supported by people like yourself which has needlessly cost both American lives and the lives of others, including UN personnel. You on the other hand only seem to value such sacrifice if the person fits a certain political persuasion apparently. Doesn't say much for you, but that's not a big surprise.

I think this speaks to a larger problem actually, which is frustration and bitterness in your own life. See, electing conservative politicians, and embracing the conservative boogeymen du jour (illegals, the UN, Hollywood, Muslims, gays, minorities, etc) is not going to make your life any less bitter. You're still going to spend your days out here complaining about something or other because that's just what you guys do. Lets fast forward to a hypothetical Jan 2011 scenario. Knuckledraggers have taken over the House and Senate, and we have Majority Leader McConnell and Speaker Boner. The minute you realize that the Congress will not be holding impeachment hearings regarding Obama's Kenyan birth, nor deporting anyone in border states with dark skin, you'll be right back out here whining about how the people you supported let you down. Esentually, you, Patman, Red Cloud, etc have turned into Archie Bunker - people who can't figure out that the world has already passed them by and why the gubmint won't do anything about stopping all those non Anglo people from getting ahead.

You know, I understand most of his list of "conservative boogeymen", but I don't get how illegal immigrants fit in.

You cannot reasonably say that every single Muslim is out to get you. The crusade of the far right to combat homosexuality, Hollywood, the UN, and various minorities is mostly an excercise in absurdity and random hatred.

You can, however, accurately say that 100% of illegal immigrants are criminals, since you know... you sort of have to break the law just to fit the description.

Hey, if I had my way we'd deport everybody in Arizona over to Mexico, whether they're from there or not. Really, I'm not sure there's a compelling reason for keeping the meth capital of America in the union, and we'd be rid of a parasitic state that takes more federal dough than it pays in.
