All kidding aside, I do agree that the emphasis was on better goaltending at media days. They brought up that both the save percentages of our goalies last year were under .900 which isn't good enough.
There has been little in the way of systems and scheme news but Cole dropped some hints yesterday. He mentioned that he would like MSU to be fast and aggressive offensively but without directly saying it, mentioned that the current roster may not be suited to an up and down, explosive style. I think we all knew that and this is pure speculation but I think this tells us that we'll be a defense first, meat and potatoes type of squad. An Iowa football of hockey, so to speak. I think this is perfectly fine. There is not a part of our game that wasn't weak or downright terrible last year. Let's shore up defense and goaltending first and score grubby goals.
