How Many UConn Trips to Bowl Games ...

Re: How Many UConn Trips to Bowl Games ...

Its really not that complicated, IMHO.

A lot of this talk seems to be focused on the insitution being the one that determines the level of support. In my experience, that really isn't the case. Money drives the decision making process, and donors drive the money. While I don't know this as fact, my guess is that UConn has better support for football and basketball because more donors give money to football and basketball. My bet is that you ask an adminstrator why they haven't put more resources into the hockey program, there response (if honest) would be, "We'd love to. Can you write us the check to make that happen?"

If John Q. Alumni (and the thousands like him) wants his money going to football and basketball, hockey won't get much of that coin.

Good for UConn. 3-1 over AIC. Doubt they can do it two nights in a row, though.

Hmmm ... so the Huskies CAN play a little. Very interesting.

Let's see if they have what it takes to take the next step. Canisius just swept Mercyhurst.

From what I know the rule was implemented after UVM joined HE and only applies to schools seeking membership. Schools in it currently are grandfathered in.

all rules are subject to expediency... I see it more as HEA staking ground in terms of prestige that they don't want just anybody joining in.

Re: UConn 4 Canisius 4

That result is kind of encouraging. Encouraging also was the game summary that said that UConn has adopted a grinding style on the road. If true, love to hear that because it will be a key to their success in every game, not just on the road.

Question is, can they grind it out two afternoon's in a row? That style takes a lot out of players and leaves them sore the next day. Unfortunately (for UConn) I suspect that today's game will be more wide open despite the need for the Huskies to establish their physical presence once again today.

It is what it is. A loss. The Huskies have to get better.

Things don't get any easier next weekend against Air Force even though both games are at home.

Nonetheless, improvement in the Huskies is noted. Too early for false optimism, but there is improvement and perhaps a basis to build on.
