Hockey East future tournament structure

Umm...first round pick in the draft coming in and a high quality goalie.....hmmmm

I know Calgary is high on him, but the kid was completely off the board at that pick.

And anyway, is ONE first rounder and a goalie gonna do the trick (meaning a trip to the frozen four)? I really hope so, but I really don't think so.

I misread that. As a sign of 'knocking in the door' I'll take an NCAA appearance this coming season. Other than that, they aren't knocking on the door.

I will say I think PC is the next to make a run at the Big 4, don't think they'll win HE any time soon but I think Leaman was a good hire

Notre Dame of all schools complaining about travel costs. Now I've heard everything.

Please show me where NOTRE DAME has complained about travel costs regarding joining Hockey East (or about any travel related expenses in the last 2 decades) and not just some random posters on a message board. Joining Hockey East will impact Notre Dame's hockey travel to a far greater extent than having Notre Dame join will effect the rest of the the league, yet for all of the possibilities for the program following the upheaval, only 2 were considered (Hockey East and the NCHC) and they chose the one that meant a far greater amount of travel than the team has ever had to deal with. As far as the Irish-centric posters on this board, we may have lamented the coming lack of close conference foes for road trips, but none of us are under any impression that this will have some sort of a detrimental effect on Notre Dame's bottom line. It's nothing like the hardships the new WCHA may face with the prospects of 2 league teams having to go to Alaska on a week's notice.

Notre Dame has had multiple opportunities to join the B1G. Turned them all down. Despite the annual football games against 3 (sometimes more, rarely fewer) games against B1G teams, Notre Dame and the B1G have a long history of animosity and the animosity has proven to be much bigger than whatever benefits Notre Dame or the B1G may see in a union.

Perhaps you didn't notice the poster I quoted saying that Notre Dame would complain and demand their way with travel. Perhaps you also didn't notice the eye rolling I put at the end of the part you did quote, which shows how ridiculous I thought it was for the other guy to write ND would complain.

They aren't fully empty seats. Most people only go for one semifinal- their team's. Are there tickets available? Yes. But the empty seats are a product of two games with four teams. Maine fans aren't going to rush down to Boston to get there by 4 to watch BC-PC. They'll stroll in before Maine-BU. Same for PC fans after losing to BC, they aren't going to stick around for the nightcap. They'll either hit the bars or get on the road/train.

See, I would figure that Maine fans, because they do have to travel so far to get to Boston, would try to get there to see the two games and make it worth their while.

Oh, well, if Calgary was high on him, we all know what the means... he's have 25 career points and get an enormous contract after 3 years at PC.

See, I would figure that Maine fans, because they do have to travel so far to get to Boston, would try to get there to see the two games and make it worth their while.

While most of us who post here enjoy hockey enough to sit in their seat for 4+ hours to watch two games, it can be kind of grindy when added to a 2 hour train ride (if coming from Portland) or a 4 hour bus/train ride (if from Bangor).

Plus the train schedule isnt really ideal for catching both games.

Considering that the official Maine pep rally at this year's tournament was held DURING the first game indicates that that's an incorrect assumption.
