HOBART HOCKEY 2025-2026 REIGNING THREE -PEAT D3 HOCKEY CHAMPIONS

Hobart gets the win 5-2 in a beautiful arena worthy of this great early season matchup. The Oz boys got 2 past Beaver which is not done by many, as the Hobart offense jumps on early opportunities.. This future rivalry is already better than the old Norwich rivalry as you can actually get to Oswego from Geneva and back in the same day. Can't wait to see these two teams meet again at the Cooler.

Never thought of it until reading this. First, It must be pretty cool to follow a team that hardly ever loses playing in a building that makes watching hockey unique and fun. Second, I already know it's just as cool to have multiple potential away opponents that are no more than 45 to 100 minutes away!!! I know that from following D3 baseball and I already know that seeing 22 out of 36 scheduled regular season games our team plays next spring can be done without a whole lot of effort.

P.S. I really thought moving to the SUNYAC from the New England league would be a step up in weight class. Now not so sure that actually turned out to be the case. There is not a whole lot of SUNYAC in the top three dozen of the NPI.

T like every conference, it ebbs and flows. Platty has been down for a few years, Genny left, and Cortland is not the team of last few years. Plus, Hobart has been the most dominate team for the last 3 years and it wouldn't matter what league they were in except the Adrian, St. Norbert, Trinity conference.
Oswego, 88

Hobart in the 'Yac? Who what have thunk it? Private school in the SUNYAC? Kinda weird but regardless they are on a roll. Not since M'Bury have we seen this. It is what it is. Gotta beat the best either way to win it all in March. Conferences don't really matter anymore. College sports are messed at all levels anyways.

Have to remember; Oswego, Platty, Geneseo, (now for the most part, Cortland) was/is a pretty good conference top four.
But Plattsburgh has not been all that impressive this year (losing or struggling to teams they should not be), and Cortland so far is definitely not what they have been the past two years. And not that impressed with the other new member, Skidmore, this year.

Depth wise, this really could be a down year for the SUNYAC. Basically, Hobart, and a step down, Oswego.

Guys were all forgetting something. Congratulating bartman on his "upset" victory
Thanks LZ. It can be intimidating playing in these larger venues like the Aud and the Deb especially when people throw stuffed animals at you. Last night was especially difficult as the refs were trying to help Brockport by calling so many penalties on us. The funniest camera shot was when there were three orange jerseys in the box shoulder to shoulder which seemed to outnumber the actual fans in the stands watching. Beaver started last night and survived the absence of friendly defenders.

I have to say Russ, I agree with you 100%. Not a lot of top to bottom depth this year. Top heavy for sure.
