Hey, We Suck Less Now: Michigan Tech Season Thread Part VI

Re: Hey, We Suck Less Now: Michigan Tech Season Thread Part VI

the warm up music is usually a frightening mixture of heavy metal rap with a southern rock "deliverance" riff added in. its painful. couldn't we just play "Bolero" or something?

huskyfan does not approve of paper bags. except for Lions games.

The only warmup song they've ever played that I thought was respectable was part of Metallica's "The Four Horsemen", which was played when they skated out for warmups during the 07-08 season.

Re: Hey, We Suck Less Now: Michigan Tech Season Thread Part VI

I always liked the song "Prayer of the Refugee" by Rise Against used during the warmups a couple years ago. It always got us pep banders pumped up and ready to play anyway. :D

I found a new warmup song for the Canadians on the team.

Ok I'm calling it, our next commitment will be from Bo dolan.

It would make some sense - he played for Hill-Murray. Had a rough go of it in the USHL two years ago when he got off to a slow start in Sioux Falls and was traded to an awful Tri-City team, but the BCHL seems to have straightened him around. Tech and Penticton also have some recent history (we got Cousens and MacLeod from them).

Here's a blog post by a fan of the NAHL team he would've played for this season if he had chosen to go that route. A Penticton blogger also felt he earned his spot on the Vees last fall by demonstrating a well-rounded game, "even though he is an import" (arrogant Canadians :p).

Part VI - Revenge of the Eli

Part VI - Revenge of the Eli

The look of pain on the Bulldog's face is EPIC.

I think the best part is that he got laid out in front of dasher board sign that reads "IMPACT SPORTS"... Understatement of the season right there in my book. BTW - The original caption of the photo was "Our Honor Student Beat the Hell out of You"

Trying to bump this thread up from the 3rd page.

Here's the drive time notes from this morning. Not too much new, just no Eli for a week or two.

-Denver is a talented team, great 1st line
-Chevrie most talented goaltender in the nation right now
-We need to be disciplined this weekend
-We've expanded the bench for players playing on the PK, allows the top 6 to rest more
-Eli V. - will not to travel to Denver, questionable for Wisconsin as well
-Duluth: We played two games where we were solid for 60 mins, good PK Friday, too many kills on Saturday
-Concerned with week off, we were playing good hockey and would have liked to keep that going
-4 players named to WCHA scholar athletes, all guys carry a 3.5 and work hard in the classroom, Corson Cramer, Peter Rohn, Mike VanWagner and Eli V.
-And then some talk about the Olympics and USA/Canada hockey games from Tuesday
-WCHA well represented on US team, and Jamie noted MTU alum Jarkko Ruutu is on the Finnish team

If SiouxTechie is reading this, you can get back on AIM and finish telling me your story. :p

Riiiiiight...

We've expanded the bench for players playing on the PK, allows the top 6 to rest more

So in other words, the Denver powerplay has no excuse not to light us up this weekend.
