He's dead, Jim.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

That's a shame, she was one of those great salty broads in comedy. (Salty not just because of her brand of humor, but also because I'm sure that if you removed all of the plastic surgery inserts from her body, all you would have left was a pile of salt)

Like Robin Williams before her, she was a comedy icon that may have had a grating style that got to you after a while, but in your sober moments you'd realize that there was no one out there like her.

RIP.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

I'm sadder than I thought I would be when I heard the news. She's had an amazing life and worked really hard and hustled when she had to. I really admire what she accomplished. She made red carpet coverage the huge thing that it is today and one of the reasons I go to the Emmys every year is because I get to walk the red carpet and I want to do that because she made it into a huge part of every awards show. Interestingly enough, this was the first year I DIDN'T get to walk it. Fashion designers owe her a huge debt of gratitude because without her "Who are you wearing?" no one would really know who they are. RIP Joan.

I think for awards show season this winter, they should have a black carpet.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

I am certainly no expert on comedians. I simply judge how good they are by whether they could make me laugh-even when I am having a not so good day. Joan Rivers, Robin Williams and Robert Schimmel could always do that for me and all three of them are gone under rather tragic circumstances.

Pro tip: do not look up "who are you wearing" on Urban Dictionary.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

For those of you too young to remember, Joan Rivers for a time was the permanent fill-in host for Johnny Carson in the 80s. That alone shows her status in the world of comedy.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

She would have loved this. Well played, Mr. Jones.

From the Comments:

Rebel Yell:

She may very well have been killed. She's calling it like it is and she would NOT back down. She had to go. She could have caused problems for Obummer and "wife."

Don't forget Jay Leno was fired because he wouldn't back down.

Joan's death is meant to send a message to the establishment: Resist and you will be killed, regardless of who you are. Fame is no protection.

That's the message. You will submit, or you will die. This is because the ruling elite is building a house of cards, a house that can be toppled if enough of us stand up and just know the truth!

Knowledge is resistance!!!!

I'd rather die than submit. Put a red sticker on my mailbox. It's a badge of honor.

I saw that comment too. I just about died laughing because I couldn't tell if it was a joke or serious. I was pretty sure it was serious, so I laughed harder.

Evidently they killed Breitbart, too. Because 30 speedballs a night for 25 years is just good, clean livin'.

Hahah.

Yeah, ditto on your 5,000th elective surgery at EIGHTY ONE YEARS OLD

While many celebrities try and hide that they have had those surgeries, she didn't care who knew. She did what she wanted, because she liked it. So, in that aspect, more power to her.
