Re: Heenan Finalist for UAA job
Speaking from experience?
Got my season-ticket application today, as I'm sure did many of you Utica fans.
Looks like 14 home games are already on the docket, and all on weekend evenings. I'm surprised to see that. Furthermore, there are several open dates, half of which will likely be filled by visitors.
Guess it's worth my $100 after all, for the two of us... Perhaps Vancouver is truly getting out of the way, as they prepare to move elsewhere.

Not sure what you mean by "several open dates". I see 25 games (+1 exhibition). If you try to add another game to that schedule, you'll have some problems with the NCAA

Since he noted "half of which will likely be filled by visitors" and he considers the Comets to be "the visitors", he means the Comets will likely take half the remaining weekends - now why the use of the word "Furthermore"?
They were still working on the site the other night; the schedule apparently wasn't final. (26 games is the D-3 max..? I didn't know that. Thanks.).
25 NCAA games is the Max for D3 hockey teams.
Larry, I'll ask for the 1,000,000th time: why are you here?
Take up fishing or something; you clearly have too much time on your hands.
Fishman, if you took the time to ask him the same question 1,000,000 times, shouldn't it be you that needs to make better use of your time?

For someone who knows so much about D3 hockey you would think they would know the simplest rules...
plus 1 exhibition game
Your statement apparently presupposes that I lend any credence to the silly manner in which D-3 does things off the ice. (I don't.)
I know hockey when I see it, is all, and every arcane rule you cite doesn't translate into you knowing a thing about the game itself... Your posts alone indicate that you haven't a clue about that.
Have a nice summer, please.
Provided that the exhibition game is against a U.S. national team or a foreign college. Ex. games with American colleges count (Norwich vs. Dartmouth the last two years, for example)
Haha um actually its only been like that for I don't know...decades. But you know all.
Tell me something, do you know so much thanks to EA Sports NHL 2013? Because obviously you've probably never stepped foot on the ice other then some busch beer league trying to live out your childhood dream. Unless your name is Stevie Wonder (which at times I do wonder myself) you probably have seen hockey, but its a far cry from understanding it, especially at this "stepping-stone minor hockey" type of puck. For someone who doesn't know, care, or like how D3 is ran, calls it a mere "minor hockey stepping-stone" league, you sure complain a lot. So take your janitors bucket from work and go find a new team, conference, division, sport, as I'm sure they will just love you People like NUProf and Norm can put more about their knowledge of DIII hockey in one sentence then you know period. So please, spare us and just continue your vacation on through March...
1. Who's "us"? Since when are you invested whatsoever in UC hockey..? You're on the wrong thread, and have been for years.
2. I was referring to the AHL as a stepping-stone. Clearly D-3 is not a conduit to the professional ranks 99% of the time. (You do know that, right?)
3. You really shouldn't insult janitors. It's honest work, and pretty-much every janitor I've ever known is far more literate than you.
4. No, while I was a 3-sport guy in HS, I never lived anywhere where there was ice or hockey. Guilty as charged. Doesn't mean I haven't become a student of the game in the meantime, if not a student of the sometimes-silly D-3 process. If you have ever made an actual hockey observation, as opposed to just sniping at Utica, I've yet to see it.
(Please start your own thread to regale whomever about your playing days, if there were any... You contribute nothing to this topic at all.)
