Harvard @ North Dakota - Friday December 30th 2011

Re: Harvard @ North Dakota - Friday December 30th 2011

After the replay, it appeared that the Sioux defensemen checked the Harvard player into Dell...so I don't think that should count as interfering with the goaltender. My guess is this stands.

4-4

Not sure what they are reviewing...must be a home town referee! :)

They're WCHA refs, so that should tell you all you need to know.

I'm not sure why it took so long to review, it appeared that North Dakota gave up on the play after the initial pressure, and Harvard just kept playing.

Game ends in a 4-4 draw.

Apparently on Harvard's game tying goal, Dell's glove came off before the puck went into the net. When the goalie loses equipment, the whistle should blow right away. It didn't, and Harvard kept playing while the Sioux stopped.

Overall, probably a fair result given that the first was basically even, the second was dominated by North Dakota, while the third was dominated by Harvard. North Dakota had the majority of the chances in OT, but unable to cash in.

The two sides will meet up tomorrow for the rematch. Hopefully the Sioux can stay healthy and play a better game. Disappointing night for North Dakota.

Harvard smarter than the refs. No surprise there.
