Re: Harvard Crimson 2013-2014

While I do agree that the consolation game should return, that game that you pointed out cost us a trip to the NCAA tournament. If we win we made the tournament, if we tied (the shootout win still counted as a tie) then we didn't make the tournament. Had we not had a 3rd place game that year, we would have made the tournament. It sucked and unfortunately it can happen where it hurts a team as was the case there! :(

I don't think that's right. As I recall we were out with a tie or no game, but needed a win to get in. Not playing a game doesn't move you in the PWR. We had to have the game and needed to win that game.

Having no game does nothing for the PWR if other teams have no games as well, but with the results of the other games that day it was determined that had we not played at all we would have made the tournament. I could have dreamt this too. That wouldn't surprise me at all LOL! Someone know where I can find/figure this out? :p

Re: Harvard Crimson 2013-2014

Not playing can absolutely move you based on other results that happen. For example, depending on results tonight in Beantown, SLU could jump up in the PWR despite not playing.

Well, yeah, obviously you are right about that. But we needed to jump over someone that was idol that year that had already lost in the playoffs and the only way you jump over that someone, usually, is to play and win a game.
