Harvard Crimson 2012-2013

I was frankly shocked to hear this; no reason for it, and embarrassing. It tarnished for me what was an otherwise magnificent exhibition of fan support.

I agree Yaledoc, although there is some context that I learned from my '90s era son-in-law. The Harvard Sucks cheer is not directed at Harvard (except at The Game, of course). It is traditionally directed at Princeton as a backhanded way of denying true rivalry. So, by analogy, the Harvard Sucks chant was actually directed at Quinnipiac, for daring to presume rivalry. I've tried to explain to students of the last 15 years that the cuteness of this wore off a decade ago, to no avail.
So here's a Yale fan looking forward to coming up many more times to Bright and seeing a true rivalry. (Last there for the Saturday playoff loss last year.).

Re: Harvard Crimson 2012-2013

It will be interesting to see how pricing works out but the Ivy League announced late last week that they are creating a digital network with NeuLion for all 8 schools. So if I'm not mistaken, we should be able to watch every Harvard away Ivy game online, in addition to having all the home games already. And that we'll be able to watch any Ivy team's home games if we so choose.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2012-2013

Any rumblings about some of the guys that had to sit out this season (McNally & Everson) in particular? Will they be back in the Fall?

I've already displaced it on the D-I composite. Probably a random Tuesday.

Yeah, I was shocked to see it on the league's composite that is floating around, as I'm convinced it wasn't there when I originally made the post a few pages back based on the same. Of course that would be the 3rd thing I either got wrong or that changed since the last time I opened the file as I originally had Quinny/Princeton as being H-Y football weekend and obviously having Union and RPI switched around. But yeah, I'd expect it to be on a random Tuesday at the end of December or beginning of January, and I'd guess one of the Dartmouth games is going to be on 2/7.

Harvard better win some of their early games or it's going to be ugly around here on the 2013-14 version of this thread come January.

Not sure why we are only playing 1 game the last full weekend in January since it's not Beanpot weekend. But now it's 6 straight non-Ivy been playing for a month opponents to start the season. EDIT - Was moved to accommodate an RPI/Union game in Albany. That Tuesday game is straight from the RPI schedule. And BU's schedule is out and they're coming to visit, if you can believe it.

I wonder who will join the Harvard staff when albie occonnell leaves to take the job at BU. Albie has been a great addition for Harvard and has done a great job recruiting... His results will be seen in the next 1-3 years.

Maybe we'll just make it a straight swap and hire Bavis? I really have no idea.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2012-2013

Malone, Madsen, and Sherman drafted - Congrats to all of them!. Anyone else I am forgetting?

Also, on the recruiting front:
- Harvard considered a front-runner for Adam Fox of the LI gulls
- Ryan Donato (son of coach) also a top prospect who will seriously consider Harvard
- Callum Booth (goalie out of Salisbury) - Harvard pursuing.

3 for us - most in the ECACHL, for whatever that is worth. Also Gauthier, who de-committed to play in the Q. The chicken littles on this board might go insane if that second guy comes to Harvard. Would not mind that at all :D.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2012-2013

Blake Weyrick out of California (Goalie for U-17 USNDT) is considering Harvard, Providence, and Northeastern - expected to make a decision next week.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2012-2013

Anyone know why Harvard hasn't announced this year's incoming frosh yet? Are the pieces still coming together or was this just an oversight?
