Re: Happy Shark Week 2009!!!

I was gonna start this because I feared you forgot! Thanks for renewing my faith in Shark Week! :D

Re: Happy Shark Week 2009!!!

I can't wait to see the advances they have made on roboshark in the past year!

Re: Happy Shark Week 2009!!!

Unlike sports and politics, Shark Week always makes me happy.

May videos of Great Whites jumping out of the water and chomping on seals warm your heart and heal the wounds of PC hockey and whatever else ails you! :D

Is there a Mythbusters special this year I always love those! When they made the robot that punched the sharks that was AWESOME!

Re: Happy Shark Week 2009!!!

The one week my DVR works overtime to keep up with all the shark shows.

Oh and this year I get to watch them all in HD!

"...I love when Great White's fly..."

I don't think the Mythbusters filmed a special. Their second Alaska special was disappointing.

Laser beams. Out of his eyes.

And the ability to move you.

actually I was thinking more about the new feature for CO2 sequestering, and improved closed loop feedback control algorithms for the fins! NASA has been bored lately.

Re: Happy Shark Week 2009!!!

Why are all the new documentaries about shark attacks? Those are the least interesting ones? I'm much more excited to see "Air Jaws" again!

Just rebuild roboshark and have it over with!

Re: Happy Shark Week 2009!!!

I believe they showed "Air Jaws II" on Sunday...those are my faves! Although the documentary where they find the huge whale carcass and like 4 GW Sharks feed on it was friggin sweet as well! When one of the scientist jumped onto the carcass as the sharks fed I was awed!

Shark Week...its like Chanukkah only instead of potato pancakes and dreidels you get flying sharks and robots!

Re: Happy Shark Week 2009!!!

I flipped past Shark Week a short time ago this evening and couldn't believe what I was seeing. A man, I assume reasonably educated but who knows after what I saw him doing, was sitting on the rotting carcass of a whale while sharks were all around him eating said carcass.

His reason? "Anything for a shot". Say what!?!?

He could probably get a pretty reasonable shot from the boat that was like 5 feet away from him. I almost brought myself to cheering for him to fall in so we can thin out the gene pool a bit.

See that is what I was saying...I could not believe what I was seeing plus you got to see sharks get so full they literally went into a food trance it was AWESOME!
