Hamilton 2013-14

The boys are back in town and time to get a Hamilton thread started.
If anyone has a full schedule for the season can they please post it. The Nescac site only has 20 games listed.

Looks like a good recruiting class for Haberbusch.

How will the offense fair this year? Looks like a stud or two recruited in.

The D recruits look solid. Will a conventional system be played?

How many games will Quattrochi play? Over/under says 23.

Getting DiMare back healthy will be key for the Conts. Due to injuries, last season was basically a lost year for him, but remember he led the team in scoring (16-17-33) in 2011-12. Another player to watch is Kenny Matheson (brother of BC defenseman and NHL 1st rounder Mike), who looked good in his rookie season, but only got to play nine games due to injury. If you get these two back healthy, it should help their conference worst 2.24 goals per game offense from 12-13.

Having DiMare, Matheson, Vassos, Haney, Jancaterino healthy for a whole season will be key. All except for DiMare have had TBI's that sidelined them. Curtis is out till later in the year. That's 6 solid forwards not counting last years class and the 3 new recruits. 9 contributing forwards won the team the reg. season NESCAC in 10-11.

Season underway. Always tough to open at Amherst. Get them at Sage tonight. Home ice might yield a different outcome.

Re: Hamilton 2013-14

Ugh. Talent level up significantly but....Ugh. IMO the lines are not set-up with players that complement each other. There are 6 or 7 forwards that could be paired on the top 2 that puts shooters and playmakers together. There are 5-6 forwards who are physical, pressuring players who could be teamed to play against the opponents top lines. Gotta match lines at this level.

On PP, pairing a offensive D with a defensive D might cut down short handed goals and allow the offensive D to open up their game. Why is there never a cutter or a give and go on the PP? Penalties in the offensive zone when on PP is bad...bad...bad.

Up next 2-0 Wesleyan. Cardinals put up 10 dingers this weekend. Hami gave up 8.
