Gusties score early 1 -- 0 over UST and are controlling the play so far.
In my decidedly inexpert opinion, I think things certainly don't look bad at all for Gustavus Adolphus. CSS will retain a significant SOS advantage over GAC. However, that wasn't enough to overcome the rest of the Gusties' portfolio where the latest regional rankings were concerned, and tonight's loss (as best as I can tell) won't cost GAC any of its existing primary-criteria leads. Plus, while late-season performance is a secondary consideration, St. Scholastica's untimely tournament departure is something to consider if the committee deadlocks on primaries.what do you think? any chance the MIAC gets two teams in with St. Thomas' win? Anyone like GAC over CSS?
To be fair, if the MCHA didn't have the automatic qualifier it would still be the old system of a pool B bid that Adrian would be in play for and no NCHA or MIAC teams would be OR if they would have made it a Pool C Hamline wouldn't get it based on comparisons anyway. You can forget Hamline. I think only one between Gustavus and Scholastica gets in and I don't see tonight's result as a favorable one for the Saints. The Gusties better root for the top few teams. If River Falls were to beat SNC it could be interesting for the Gusties.I think GAC, CSS and Hamline deserve a shot. It is unfortunate that a spot is wasted by Adrian.
