I'm convinced it's why they are so big on open carry. An outside the waistband holster lessens the chances of shooting yourself in the junk, or worse (like, you know, the femoral artery)...

I had no idea they had any military infrastructure except for the type of alliance bureaucracy (administrators, bases, loaned troops and officers) that NATO has.

Wait -- does NATO make weapons too?

I'm very surprised, too.

We should research the EU more thoroughly. If Dump wins in 2020 we'll probably be at war with them as a Russian client someday soon.

Virginia Beach police are currently responding to an active shooter. Based on the scanner it sounds like the shooter isn't active. I did hear one DOA found. Several other victims. Several.

My cousin and his fiancée live in VA Beach. No one can contact him yet, but we are trying. I’m sure he’s ok. He was also a freshmen at VA Tech during that shooting in 2007

Shooter deceased. Was a recently fired employee.

OK, against my better judgement, I'll entertain this.

If you Google for some stats (because I'm not taking this too seriously :p), there are about 3.5 million Muslims living in America, or 1.1% of the population. There are roughly 100 million gun owners living in America, or around 33% of the population. Philly sports fans, let's say constitute probably 2 million people at most.

Let us then assume that among their respective populations, 0.001% are radicals who would be willing to kill other people under the right conditions - exposure to other extremists, prolonged unemployment, drug/alcohol abuse, inability to find a romantic partner, mental breakdown, extended Stanley Cup droughts, etc. This would mean around 3,500 Muslims are potential terrorists, compared to 2,000 Philly sports fans, and about 100,000 gun owners.

Proportionally, who should we worry about the most?

Proportionally, sure. Still a minority of the group people are keeping their eye on. I bet there are more drunk drivers than gun owners. While the outrage is (rightly) there, I think more hate is tossed on gun owners.

I doubt that. Crime stats say about 300,000 people drive drunk each day, but only 3000-3500 are busted. Extrapolate that over 365 days a year, and you get about 109,000,000 total incidents. However, it is safe to assume that a large number of those incidents involve the same individuals, since statistically about a third of the people busted for DUI are repeat offenders, and there are presumably several million others who just haven't been caught yet.

The "haven't been caught" part is what drives my theory.

My neighbor is a major player in law enforcement. She said it’s amazing how bad it is sitting in on counterterror briefings and what you think when you hear those guys speak. Her exact words were, “WE’RE F-CKED”. And like most of us know, she said it’s not gangs or immigrants or Muslims we need to worry about. It’s the old white men. Right wing extremists are the biggest threat to America right now and it’s not even close.
