My favorite part is the correction:

”Correction: An earlier statement by NYPD regarding whether the Statue of Liberty was open was incorrect and has been removed.”

I’m just dying to know how there was supposedly a tie-in between a shooting in Times Square and the Statue’s visiting hours.

Six people were killed in a shooting early Sunday morning during a birthday party at a Colorado Springs, Colorado, mobile home, according to police.

The suspected shooter -- believed to be a boyfriend of one of the victims -- is also dead, police said.

Colorado Springs police received a call about a shooting just before 12:20 a.m. (2:20 a.m. ET), the department said in a news release. Officers responded to the Canterbury Mobile Home Park, where they found six dead adults, along with a seventh person who was injured and later died at a local hospital.

Police believe the suspect drove to the home where a birthday party was being held and opened fire before killing himself. No children were injured in the shooting.

Yes, yes, if only they did. I’m sure those watching would immediately tune out the decades of research that points in the direction of more guns = more gun deaths, when controlling for every other factor. So yes, let’s arm more people in this country. We only have 120 guns for every 100 people, twice as many as the next closest country, war-torn Yemen. If we hit 180 or 200 guns per 100 people, I bet our highest in the developed world by a country mile violent crime rate will take a bit of a tumble into “severely alarming” territory from “fucking embarrassing.”
 
Shocking (not) to see a couple of kids get shot because some person think's its a capitol offense to get cut off in traffic.

Gun companies wanted the Wild West across the country- they got it.

Once again, a reminder that the movement to ban guns will eventually get big enough if nothing is done. People are getting murdered. The Racist party insists that people live in fear- they got that, too.

Yep, and the responsible gun owners will have no one but themselves to blame for failing to speak up and shut down the most rabid, radicalized elements of the pro-2A crowd. Instead, they allow themselves to be cowed by the domestic terrorists and the gun lobbyists.
