Got Snow?

Re: Got Snow?

God's shaking off his dandruff right now. That's about it. But it's markedly colder these past couple days than the last couple weeks.

Re: Got Snow?

only a dusting so far in the Keweenaw. wind is kicking up and they are forecasting up to 24 inches in the next 36 hours. we'll see.

In my experience, that much is usually BS - especially this early on. The big UP blizzards are usually old man winter's parting shot in March or early April.

Re: Got Snow?

the first year I lived up here we had 150 inches of snow in December. roughly 6 inches a day for thirty days. the several years Halloween had knee deep snow. not so much now. winter comes later.

those weather guys usually over estimate. all though I just looked out and God is shaking our snowdome big time. just started. now we'll see how long it goes on. plow mounted, truck plugged in, shovels out, snowblower tuned up. bring it!

Re: Got Snow?

We have a few inches in the central UP, nothing to scream and yell about. Sounds like the lake effect machine is getting ready to fire, though.

Re: Got Snow?

Yeah, I can't wait for the Blizzard Of The Year Of The Week newscasts, and then 2 inches fall.

I'll never forget the time my high school canceled class the night before a huge storm was supposed to blow in. Of course, we got a grand total of an inch, but school was still canceled. :D

Sadly, the administration never made that mistake again.

Re: Got Snow?

"Al Roker said we were going to get 6-12 inches of snow. We got....36 inches of snow. He was two feet off. THAT'S NOT EVEN IN THE BALLPARK!!!! If you were a roofer, and you built a roof, and IT was two feet off...you'd still be doin' time." - Lewis Black :D

Re: Got Snow?

d^mn. when I was in school they NEVER cancelled. well, almost never. it had to be extreme.

Win.

And even when they hype a "blizzard" which sometimes means a predicted (and correctly predicted) 6-8 inches, they act like it's the end of the world. It's *ing hilarious.

Re: Got Snow?

Schools are never cancelled around here. Not for blizzards, not for being -370004928170000, not for anything! Not unless we have a dire need for sandbagging lol
