So much for the pros. Us amateurs who play, or try to play bogey golf are the backbone of the game.

Anyway, if you're looking for a golf ball, I ordered a couple of dozen Vice golf balls. Solid, long, and straight. Rolls true on the green. About $15/doz + shipping. I'd recommend it.

The Olympics should have a stroke play and team gold medals. Enter your top 3 golfers and play 72 holes to determine the best individuals. Then go match play with the best 8 countries based on their scores in the medal round. It will take 6 days for both (4 days stroke, 2 days match). Week 1 is women, week 2 is men.

Spieth, Day, McIlroy and Fowler a combined +19 right now. Yikes.

I think you're going to see Oakmont rear its ugly head today. 12 players are under par right now. I expect that to drop, if not halve by sundown.

Oakmont kicks my arse on the video game. Can't even imagine real life for a golfer.

Rory just made a mess of his bunker shot, and that's going to cost him. He's going to miss the cut now.

18 at Erin Hills.

I played the sane person tees and that bastard was like 620. Had a tap in, 2 inch (that close to a birdie!) par on it too! :) It was surprising, since I was so tired from walking that place by the 18th, combined with about 30 more swings than normal.

Spieth and Day on the move. Especially Spieth. His shot on 13 was sweet, almost flushed it for an ace.

Well, if it's 18, I doubt they'll stretch the closing hole that far.

600 is just about the longest hole I've ever played. At least I don't recall anything much longer than that. There's a muni course around here that starts you off with a 570-590 yard par 5, and there was a couple others around that were north of 575. One of which closed its front 9 with a 585 yarder where you had to tee off over what was essentially a moat.
