Global War on Terror III: Dick Cheney's Hague ICC Vacation

Re: Global War on Terror III: Dick Cheney's Hague ICC Vacation

I expect I have a slightly different slant on the Benghazi killings. Just because there is free speech...that doesn't mean you should be an idiot. I remember after 9/11 a few folks around here were hypersensative to anything that foriegners would say.

So the cause of this?

The two-hour movie, "Innocence of Muslims," cost $5 million to make and was financed with the help of more than 100 Jewish donors, said Bacile a Jew himself, who wrote and directed it.

The film claims Muhammad was a fraud. An English-language 13-minute trailer on YouTube shows an amateur cast performing a wooden dialogue of insults disguised as revelations about Muhammad, whose obedient followers are presented as a cadre of goons.

It depicts Muhammad as a feckless philanderer who approved of child sexual abuse, among other overtly insulting claims that have caused outrage.

So my opinion?
Radical Islamists have blood on their hands.
Those involved in making the film that sparked it have blood on their hands.

No, Radical Islamists were free to ignore it or denounce it without a violent outburst. They are left as the only ones with blood on their hands. If you don't like the content, then boo friggin' hoo - don't watch it.

More on Mittens:

Mark Halperin: "Unless the Romney campaign has gamed this crisis out in some manner completely invisible to the Gang of 500, his doubling down on criticism of the President for the statement coming out of Cairo is likely to be seen as one of the most craven and ill-advised tactical moves in this entire campaign."

My take: Romney is a CHUMP. This is beyond ridiculous. I was thinking the same thing. S T F U already if you don't know what the #$%^ you're talking about.

It's not just Romney. It's the whole diseased bunch.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus:

Obama sympathizes with attackers in Egypt. Sad and pathetic.

Obama's actual response:

I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi, which took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. Right now, the American people have the families of those we lost in our thoughts and prayers. They exemplified America's commitment to freedom, justice, and partnership with nations and people around the globe, and stand in stark contrast to those who callously took their lives.

Re: Global War on Terror III: Dick Cheney's Hague ICC Vacation

It's a pretty simple statement:

You would think right? I haven't heard his statement, but have no doubt he said enough to again prove his complete inadequacy for the job, which is a good thing to awaken a few more voters to the danger of electing this jackwagon.

Re: Global War on Terror III: Dick Cheney's Hague ICC Vacation

So, someone opened up the door for Romney and he still blew it? And this is who they nominated?

GTFOOH.

Re: Global War on Terror III: Dick Cheney's Hague ICC Vacation

The comments from our embassy in Egypt represent muddled thinking at best, but don't deserve to be a major focus in and of themselves. Expressing sympathy for the Muslim sensitivities as they attack our embassies is interesting to say the least though. These are some of the same countries where Christians have been being harrassed, killed, etc. as an unseemly offshoot of the Arab Spring, and it's garnered little international interest and no discernable concern from Muslim quarters.

It'll be interesting to see if any sort of concrete steps are taken by Obama, beyond his verbal condemnation of the attacks. Really, maybe we should just pull embassies out of Middle Eastern countries that can't/won't protect them. The lack of any sort of condemnation by the Egyptian government for the attacks is more than a little interesting, though not really surprising.

Foreign Policy Hands Voice Disbelief At Romney Statement
Mitt Romney's "sharply-worded attack on President Obama over a pair of deadly riots in Muslim countries last night has backfired badly among foreign policy hands of both parties, who cast it as hasty and off-key, released before the facts were clear at what has become a moment of tragedy," Ben Smith reports.

Said a very senior Republican foreign policy hand: "They were just trying to score a cheap news cycle hit based on the embassy statement and now it's just completely blown up."

Said another Republican: "I guess we see now that it is because they're incompetent at talking effectively about foreign policy. This is just unbelievable -- when they decide to play on it they completely bungle it."

Another said it was "a parallel to the moment when John McCain, amid the 2008 financial crisis, failed to come across as a steady leader."

Personna non grata.
The Libyan government responded with a condemnation of the attack. Reprisal against them would make no sense.

The Egyptian government, though, is a different case. As of this morning they had yet to condemn the attack on the Cairo embassy. That's the kind of situation where you start expelling diplomats.

Instead, we provide them with U-Boats. http://dailycaller.com/2012/09/10/obama-aids-egypt-as-it-tries-to-buy-u-boats/

Re: Global War on Terror III: Dick Cheney's Hague ICC Vacation

A good summary of why Romney's response is so telling of his "by any means necessary" mindset.

Rush said today that Romney was very "Presidential". He also said that the folks in the embassy were "apologizing for America". Which seems to back up Romney's statements. I don't think speaking out in favor of religious tolerance (even when the particular religion you're being tolerant of isn't tolerant in the slightest) is a bad thing.

We all know what the embassy said was simply an effort to sooth the raging crowds that were/are threatening our embassies/personnel, etc. in the hope they stop attacking/threatening. Of course any commentary on religious tolerance should have some pushback on the obvious religious intolerance in places like Egypt and reference things like the harrassment and attacks on Coptic Christians in Egypt, etc. But Obama's never had much interest in that, just in soothing the Muslims.

When I was out grabbing Chinese food, Laura Ingraham was calling him a dope, but he's in a ****ed if you do, ****ed if you don't situation. If he says something, the situation has been politicised. If he doesn't, he's not doing his job because it means he's avoiding foreign confrontation.

We should not be doing apology tours or giving deference to our enemies. Team America had it right: we're the ****s of the world, and as much as everyone may hate us, they realise that they need us to take out anyone that is a threat to Western enlightenment.

Re: Global War on Terror III: Dick Cheney's Hague ICC Vacation

This is ****ing proof of just how much of a ******* Romney's become. Maybe he's always been this way, but he wasn't like this as Mass Gov. Rich people can be buffoons too as Donald Trump proves on a semi-daily basis. Unbelievable that a nominee for President would use a desperate press release from an embassy under seige to slam the President at a time like this. What a total a-hole and a man who's proven for the umpteenth time he's just not ready for the Presidency. It seems more like he's auditioning for a Fox Cable TV gig.

Where were your posts when John Kerry did it to Dubya?

Report I heard was that after the Ambassador and staff were moved to a more secure structure, the Militia told the mob where they were. If true, the Libyan is speaking with forked tongue.

You can't let killing American diplomats go with just pithy words. There has to be action / punishment. So
(a) Expel 4 Libyan diplomats
(b) If any money for Libya is in the pipeline, stop it. Redirect it to the families of those killed.
(c) Recall the American ambassador to Egypt for "consultations"
(d) Demand reparations from Egypt.

In the old days, a battleship off the coast would do wonders. And the ghost of Lt. Presley O'Bannon, USMC, is probably ready to blow the bugle and sound "Charge!"

You forget, though: Obama's playing for the other team. He wants America to fail and become a communist third world nation subject to the New World Order.

Correct. If he could he would turn the keys over to Putin right now.
