This goes along with the nitwits who need to walk on the road when the sidewalk is right next to them and no one is on it

Agreed. I'm sorry, but the human body cannot perceive the difference in the deflection of asphalt and concrete for an average-sized person. Run on the GD sidewalk and stay the f*k off the road.

Have you tried liberal applications of Solarcaine? (Not trying to sound like a d*k.)
It just comes naturally? :p

(No me sounding like a dick and not caring) The lousy royal baby over in London. I can't escape the it on the news. I'm not English. I'm not a subject of the crown. I don't care. I sort of hope it has a Mikhail Gorbachev type of birthmark right across its entire head, not just forehead.

We fought for independence so we didn't have to care about the royal baby.

I hate it when I get an email that says something to the effect of: "You have a message waiting in your _______ inbox. Please visit _________ inbox to view your message." This happens with several different companies/organizations that send me emails. The 2 that come to mind first are ****ing Comcast and one of my student loan administrators. I sent an email back to the student loan administrator yesterday basically saying "No, I won't go check my email in this inbox. I have an email account that you obviously have the address to, send it there. I don't even know where my _______ inbox is or what it is. If you need to send me something send it to my actual email address."

Clients who are barely bright enough to operate a microwave, yet they want to argue about their in-house accounting software.

I placed an order with Amazon some three months ago, but it was backlogged until today. They attempted to charge the card on file and it failed because it's been replaced due to fraud. Instead of simply allowing me to choose from one of the existing cards on file, they force me to enter all new card info as though I've never done business with them before. And their system keeps throwing errors as I tried to enter in the new data. Six times. Their customer service better have a solution because I bought the thing at a price cheaper than for what it's selling now. I refuse to cancel the current order and pay the higher amount because of their design flaws.

Is this gmail or a work address? If gmail, it recently partitioned incoming mail into three separate inboxes and then sends those sorts of alerts. Completely annoying and inefficient. Lot of people not happy with it. Google is lucky it managed to figure out how to make internet advertising work since it never seems to get much else right...

With Google, you can revert back to "classic mode" or whatever it is. I did it. Screw them filtering into 3 groups. Easier with 2. Duh. Spam/Not Spam.

Yeah, takes three seconds to disable on desktop though I have yet to figure out how to do it on my phone. Nonetheless, the fact that the change was conceived, survived through no doubt endless meetings and was ultimately implemented...is dumbfounding.

I have gmail, but I haven't had any problems with it, I didn't even know that they split them into 3 groups. If I could get gmail to figure out which emails are the ones telling me to go see another inbox, and send them an automatic response, that would be perfect. :p

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

We live in an area with lots of hills and lakes. As a result, there are very few roads that allow you to travel any significant distances.

Naturally, every Gaw dam one of them is under construction at the same time.

I-95, Route 1, Route 80, Route 139, construction construction construction construction.

This Saturday night into Sunday morning we get a real two-fer: lane shift on I-95 will have them closing and reopening lanes off and on through the night, while Route 1 also will be closed overnight for bridge work. Same evening of course.

It's cute that you think either Comcast or your student loan company gives a flying **** about your opinion of their procedures. ;)

I would presume that once changed on the computer, the setting carried over to the phone. It worked that way for my wife when they changed her mail settings. Removed the option on the computer, and the phone app never showed those stupid inboxes again.

My work phone never even showed the inboxes when mine switched (and I also turned it off)

What a stupid "feature," and yet they killed Google Reader.

My hope was that it would carry over but it has yet to. Perhaps if I re-sync it maybe...

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

Maybe I should have taken this as an omen.....

Walking to work this morning, there was a group of people handing out free samples of some new hair loss product, and they offered some to me (thanks, folks! :o)

Well, I then proceeded to have one of those days where, as the expression goes, you want to tear your hair out! and I really can't afford to waste it like that over stupid work crahp.
