I think the most telling thing is the color guy just laughing because of how unreal it was.
No disrespect to the Hobart program, coaches, or players - but that rink is an absolute joke. Does anyone know anything about the behind the scenes for that program? Is there any movement to get a new barn? I just can't believe that a consistent top 10 program is playing in that crappy of a home arena.

Although I'm a big fan of the the game day experience that is the cooler, there may be movement in the near future for a rink with William Smith
starting varsity women's hockey next year.

My daughter and I were standing in the perfect place to see the play develop. The move around the D and shot release happened
in just a split second. Hopefully there will be some video available soon.

Hobart for many years was not a top 10 program and as Derek alluded to, it has made improvements (walls are a nice upgrade). However there is no excuse for the goal mounts which seemed to be put on with a piece of scotch tape. Its an okay minor hockey rink with "okay" ice.
On the goal, sound is great but doesn't do it justice. Some of the Hobart faithful didn't like me laughing at it in the stands either but oh well.
Lastly, get some fan interaction. Geneseo fans were so into the game. Hobart fans were stuck cheering for their team "Go Number Six!" Really people? You can't even learn names? After Collins goal the crowd just sat there saying "let's go Bart, let's get it back" ummm it OT the game is over. Decent team and not very many hockey fans there to watch them. But with a rink like that do you blame them?
On a side note, and the most important stat of the night, only a 3.5 out of 5 star rating for the Puck Bunny ranking system.

i watched the game vs. Platty he has some nice dipzzzzy doodles,if you watch the puck with him he will beat you for sure,gotta take the body at all times with him, he has mad skills for this level,he did about 120 games in the USHL be ASU.....

They have some serious player,dont kid yourself, many play very good jr's,like I posted b4,Collins played 120 game s in the USHL, the top jr league,and many of his teammates are very good and can play D3 for sure,I believe they beat Penn State last yr as well,and probably could beat many D3 teamsArizona State has hockey?

Good ACHA D1 teams are probably middle road D-III.

As someone who is somewhat in the know...the answer from last year is no. For the time being the idea is that the school/town would rather put money into the current rink than building a new one. In regards to the WS hockey team, the best proposal i have heard so far has been that they will convert the HS locker room (behind the benches) to WS. There are some other ones but they dont make a ton of sense (or any whatsoever). So maybe something changes over the course of this year or next but right now in the foreseeable future, the only real tangible thing I can say is that they are going to build a WS locker room to match Hobart in some fashion and hopefully the school/town puts money into upgrading the rink.
