Frozen Four Game 2: Saint Cloud versus Quinnipiac

Re: Frozen Four Game 2: Saint Cloud versus Quinnipiac

If you're a fan of ef bombs, this is the game to record...

Re: Frozen Four Game 2: Saint Cloud versus Quinnipiac

This game is downright horrible to watch. SCSU didn't bother to even try, really. What a chokejob (not saying SCSU should have won this game, but man, at least show up)

They're choking, but I wouldn't say they didn't show up. They should have 3 or 4 goals. (Yeah, Q could have 6 or 7, but it's not like St. Cloud isn't getting any chances . . . they just can't hit the broad side of a barn.)

Hartzell is freaky good.

He's been like this all year. It's depressing.

and they can no longer blame it on poor eyesight caused by the smog, either, the steel mills have all been closed for years. Pittsburgh is a high technology city now, believe it or not....

Re: Frozen Four Game 2: Saint Cloud versus Quinnipiac

My bad indeed, Kepler.

I'm old enough to remember Penn's Quakers also. Not a great monniker for hockey players.

Great barn, though.

(I just missed them, but I've heard the stories.)

Funny too that when they disbanded they actually produced some pretty **** talented transfers.

I ran some posts through the Internet Forum Post Translator:

Not surprising the ezac will have 2 teams in the finals, when you have 24 and 25 year olds on the squad you're bound to strike gold eventually.

"My team was eliminated a loooong time ago."

Thank goodness there will be a ton of booze

"I am a hockey fan."

:D

It's high tech HealthCare ground zero with CMU. And the aerial of the bridges are downright gorgeous.

I visited in the 70's and it made Detroit look like Tuscany. Unbelievable how they transformed the city.

True, true. Last year, bbdl had a nice grill-out, watched the game, etc etc. This year? Um, booze and grilled dead animals please. That'll do.

Re: Frozen Four Game 2: Saint Cloud versus Quinnipiac

Okay. So it's going to be an all NUTmeg State final on Saturday. QU will battle Yale to determine which team has the bigger set of NUTS.

Re: Frozen Four Game 2: Saint Cloud versus Quinnipiac

Can you imagine what it will be like to be in a New Haven bar Saturday night?

Yeah but Neville Island is nasty, whole thing looks like a superfund site with the Robert Morris Rink at the western end of it.

Re: Frozen Four Game 2: Saint Cloud versus Quinnipiac

I've had season tickets to Denver Pioneers hockey games for a shade over forty seasons. I can't even begin to estimate the number of WCHA games I've attended. My opinion is that this year's post-season showing in the NCAA tournament by WCHA teams is as poor as I can recall.

Denver hosted Lowell and Yale for single games and played a pair of two game series against Saint Cloud. Denver beat Lowell, lost in OT to Yale, split at home with the Huskies and were swept on the road by the Huskies. From top to bottom in the NCAA event the WCHA teams were beaten by better squads. This was by no means a banner season for the WCHA. It will be interesting to see how the teams in the NCHC--many migrating there from the WCHA--do next year in the NCAA tourney. .

Re: Frozen Four Game 2: Saint Cloud versus Quinnipiac

It will resemble a WI bar on a Tuesday night.
;)

The difference will be that it will be a completely novel experience for them. A long way to go before they move up to Madison's weight class.
