Question: Has any 4 seed ever made it to the national championship game? Is this the first time it happened.

Let's Go Bobcats ... Fingers crossed for an all ECAC Championship game between two teams less than 10 miles apart ... Wouldn't that be something! :):eek:

I like the idea of the last two teams to get into the tournament playing for the title.

4 seeds made their first appearance in 1981. Two #4 seeds have won the tournament (Wisconsin in '81 and LSSU in '94).

Since the tournament expanded to 16 teams, two have made it: Miami was a #4 in '09. Notre Dame was a #4 in '08.

In the 12 team tournament: BC was a #4 in '00. LSSU was a #4 in '94 (won).

In the 8 team tournament: Providence was a #4 in '85. Wisconsin was a #4 in '81 (won).

Wisconsin was a #6 in '92 (12 team tournament)

Terrier you should know 2009 BU beats Miami after tying the game with two in the last minute of the game, Miami was a 4 seed.

Bemidji. Although, Beminji certainly does have a nice ring to it. :p:D:D

I believe Miami was the 2nd to last at large to get in that season. I don't think anyone thought they would do anything after crapping the bed in the CCHA Tournament, but come tournament time they turned it on and really should have won a national title.
