Frozen Fenway II sold out?

Re: Frozen Fenway II sold out?

I was at the BC/BU game and I couldnt see a thing from center field. However, the atmosphere was fantastic. Every Hockey East team was represented by fans. Its more than a game played at Fenway, its a celebration of College Hockey. I am looking forward to January 7th.

...and by the way, the picture of the rink on the website is the same thing they showed last time, only they CHANGED it. So don't be disappointed if your seats relative to the rink are DIFFERENT than what you thought you were getting when you bought them! Of course, the other factor is, I don't know how anyone will be able to sit through TWO GAMES if it's as cold as it was last time (it was about 7 degrees, as I recall)...

I remember it being unseasonably cold, even for Boston, that night. We had toe and hand warmers and were still cold. But yes, it was indeed completely packed. I remember at puck drop, looking out into the right field bleachers and not being able to see any empty seats, so it wasn't just an announced sellout. Of course, within about 20 minutes of the game starting, everyone out there realized they couldn't see a dam thing, so they all either moved or went home. I could only see half the ice, and watched a lot on the video board, but for $15, I was just happy to be there and experience it once.

I brought up Alumni Stadium as an option if they want to do it again for a couple of reasons. Isn't BC affiliated with the Yawkey Sports Management or whatever that group is? Aren't they affiliated with the Red Sox? So that would mean the Red Sox would still profit off such a game. Also, if held while school was in session, which was not the case at FF1, I'm sure you could get a solid student crowd, especially from BC since it would be another opportunity for them to tailgate. Of course I understand that a lot of the crowd shows up because it's Fenway and it's the novelty factor, but if you want pure outdoor hockey in an environment that's more conducive to the fan, this could be an option.
