smith knew that.....and played it to his advantage....smart if you think of it.If Beckwith did that i'd say the same thing.

Some thoughts about Jones in net for the Lakers:

He's doing a great job so far, I like how he stays square in the net, a lot of backups get too aggressive when they get in the game trying anticipate passes. Also, for a big guy he stays upright when he goes down to the butterfly position. Big goalies tend to bring their shoulder level down when pucks are in close in an attempt to make themselves bigger in the lower half of the goal. Jones uses his long legs effectively keeping his glove in a position to deflect high shots.

Utica just got unlucky...puck slides behind Jones but alos past far post. Still 2-1 Lakers 16 min left.
