Adrian forward Mike Dahlinger had eight points tonight (2-6-8). Yikes.

Wow. Nichol apologized for the terrible 3rd period in the post game interview. Said it was the worst period of hockey he's ever coached. Yikes. Should be very interesting tomorrow
I thought Nichol did a good thing in taking a timeout late to get into his guys a little. Maybe reminding them they had to see these guys again in 22 hours helped, but they played it out just fine the last 4 or 5 minutes. A few of those penalties were pretty undisciplined and probably the worst of all, the shot to Pulak's head at center ice, they didn't call. It was too bad because Point played almost 2 full periods of pretty good hockey. They don't have a ton of speed or explosiveness, but they are big and they did play a solidly aggressive brand of hockey for most of 2 periods. They were very aggressive to the puck side and kept the game in tight quarters. SNC needed to spread the game out more side to side and they never really did that. The score got away obviously because of the parade to the box. Before that, Point capitalized big time when one of the SNC players took a run at somebody on a delayed penalty and ended up with a double minor. I don't blame him for being upset and although it certainly wasn't good I wouldn't say it's the worst I've ever seen.

tomorrow's going to be a good one at GAC. fun to see the two favorites in the MIAC meet so early, with a NC match-up mid-year before it really counts in March.
This was a really good game to watch. Gustavus dominated early, St. Olaf put on a ton of pressure late.... and we get a 3-3 tie. I'm sure both sides were hoping for a win.... but they can try again when they play in 19 hours. ;)

SNC scored 6 PPG, Point absolutely needs to stay out of the box in general, its sort of been a trend. I didn't see the Pulak hit as it was behind the play but I heard it, not sure what exactly happened there. Wil did send Donnie Hallmark off the ice with 4:50 to go after taking a 2 minute slash.

In general Point played a pretty ok first two periods. Once they get it in the zone they cycle really well, probably because of their size? They allowed too many 2 on 1s the opposite way. Hopefully they put the 3rd period behind them and come out playing well tonight.
