Four Nations Cup

Re: Four Nations Cup

Any game where a Lamoreux gets pounded to the ice would be a good game to watch - can't stand either of them.
They aren't that easy to pound to the ice. Say what you want about them, they are warriors and give everything that they have. If you don't line up properly for a faceoff, Jocelyne won't be shy about pointing that out to you. They also stand out to me as two players who improved after their college careers ended, and that isn't easy to do.

I don't think it is their talent (or any lack thereof) that generates this attitude. It is the .02 brains on top of an ugly way of hurting opponents. It is not coincidental that they have watched championship winning goals scored against their teams from the comfort of the penalty box. Both are top flight hockey players who seem to enjoy marginal crap and not smart enough to pick their spots. I'm with Zed - and, yes, I felt that way in 2008-9.

I used to think that way as well, but I've noticed a huge improvement in that they've become smarter in the way they play physical. They've both really cut down on the cheap stuff and senseless penalties and not coincidentally have become more effective as quality hockey players. As ARM noted they've actually improved post-college, which is rather unusual in the women's game.

Thats nice to hear. OTOH it was them that ended up in the fight with Team Canada the last olympic cycle. I half forgive them for that because Canada seems to supply the world for that type of play but still it would be them. I hope you and ARM are right.
