Forbes School Rankings

Re: Forbes School Rankings

I await the Princeton Review's list of party schools with bated breath.

Re: Forbes School Rankings

I was going to make a joke about my school not being on the list, but then decided to check and make sure on a bit of a lark. So I immediately jump to the end of the list, lo and behold, SCSU made it at #605! :D

Re: Forbes School Rankings

The U of M is only a few points ahead of Bethel University?

you have to read the explanation for the scoring...a significant percent is student input into an online professor rating website...while they excluded the scores for how hot the professor was it should give you some insight into who is running that site and who utilizes it.

I figured as much. Worthless. The U of M at 418 is preposterous. I'm not saying it should be top 50 or anything but 418? Wow.

Last year, Cornell College in Iowa was ranked 100 places ahead of Cornell University. That should have been red flags right there.

To be fair, a few of the posters on here from Cornell don't make that too far of a stretch... :p

Re: Forbes School Rankings

Much to my surprise Forbes has CC ranked at #51. Considering the weight of student input and CC's simultaneous ranking at #7 for "Reefer Madness" by the Princeton Review, perhaps I shouldn't be surprised. :p

The rankings have also generally had a great bias in favor of private universities and against the large, land-grant state-funded universities. Not just now, but in the past as well. Never mind that great research comes out of those "agricultural colleges..." (which include U of M, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Cornell, Illinois, Iowa State, Penn State...)
