Don't tell anyone, but he's actually going to do it in front of a green screen in a warehouse in Burbank. ;)

Because (I say speaking with the awesome authority of someone who has read almost half a column on this...) the problem with the wind is the risk of contact between the balloon and the ground. Once he's clear the balloon can handle being buffeted by winds.
