Anyone want to tell me how to use the data that can be downloaded from the website. I just spent 2 hours in excel trying to figure out how to get it into some kind of usable format and I haven't even come close. As far as I can tell I won't be able to get any value out of it. I wanted to avoid having to spend hours sorting through stats on websites in the future and just use the data provided, but it looks like that isn't possible.

Any way I can be Tues instead of Weds? Just got my work sched for next week, and I work at 8. If not, I'm going to need a stand-in... Maybe PB will do it.

Here's what I do in Excel 2007.
1. Highlight all the data.
2. Insert -> PivotTable then OK the default.
3. Check "player" and "total_points"
4. On the bottom right drag "total Points" from "Row Labels" to "Values"
5. Click "Count of Total Points" and then "value field settings". Change from "count" to "sum"

This gives all players' total points. For last season, you will see Spencer Abbott at the top of the list with 67 points. You can sort by right clicking on the list of numbers and choose Sort -> Largest to Smallest.

You can then play with your PivotTable and try to glean more information. But I'm not divulging any more secrets :)

For the drafts. The times we've drafted before, when I've been involved, we've made it a rule that you must fill out your starting lineup before drafting reserves. So, you have to have 6 forwards, 4 defensemen, and 2 goalies drafted at the end of the 12th round, then after that we've switched to drafting 2 players at a time to make it move along faster. Can we stick to this strategy again?

Glad to see the FiveHole12 saga finally got sorted out. I was scrolling down the thread and thinking... W_T_F? :p
BTW...did you know if you type W_T_F without the underscores, it looks like ***? :D

OK... how about awards for the season RS champs and the Playoff champs?

Regular Season Champion: something simple, like a unframed photo of UNH celebrating one of their many RS Titles like they just won Lord Stanley's Cup. ;) :D

Playoff Champion: Maybe a brat in a blanket for a western winner and a bowl of clam chowduh for an eastern winner?

Gotta have something... ideas?

Eff. I missed the post about the deadline since I've been travelling home from work and then down to NYC the past 3 days, and coupled with getting a "replacement" phone, haven't been able to check the forum on it.

Can you draft on Wednesday? That would give us an even 8.

Can someone draft for me on Wednesday night? If I get a list put together, I would really appreciate it. I don't want to miss this season. :( I'm still stuck working nights due to the stupid rain out days the past month.

If someone cannot draft for me, I'll take the leftovers and go from there.

No worries on the AIM.

Who wants to facilitate on Wed.? I can't make it and someone will have to qb it. We can use the draft tool.
