well, after the microphone issues and the less than stellar national anthem singing, the puck has been dropped! Hockey season is officially upon us!

sounds like SCSU is putting good pressue on Manitoba so far, getting a couple good shots on goal early and causing some turnovers

Lee didn't see a puck that bounced off the post and sat behind him uncovered, then a scrum broke out with a Manitoba player cross-checking a player. 5min into the 1st and SCSU gets the 1st PP of the season

Edit: Greg Beller was the one in the penalty box for Manitoba

Volpei gets an elbow from Chad Erb of Manitoba, and SCSU will go on their 2nd PP of the night at 10:24 of the 1st

in SCSU football action, Huskies win 42-10 earlier today. Keeping up the winning streak! Take on Mankato next week. Now back to hockey, 6:07 left in the 1st, 1-0 SCSU

Osland called for tripping at 17:26 of the 1st, so Manitoba gets their 1st shot at a PP tonight

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL SCSU! Huskies storm out of the penalty box on a 4 on 2 break, Hanowski passes it to Roe who fires it into the net, 2-0 SCSU at 19:38 of the 1st

and that's how we reach the end of the 1st, SCSU 2, Manitoba 0, Osland and Roe the goal-scorers, though Manitoba leads the SOG 14-11
