Has a d3 player ever left early to sign a two way contract with a NHL/AHL team? This is a shock for a d3 player. How did the d1 teams miss this kid?
Why the frowny face? I would think this is a good thing for your school. I mean, anytime Aucoin gets mentioned, 349 different threads pop up on this board with people ready to felate him. So think of all the time you guys get to spend reading threads now!

Good luck to Eric but weren't we kinda expecting something like this to happen. If the player has the opportunity, why wouldn't he jump to the bigger ice. You can always complete college. It appears the Lakers are either going to need to work on their defensive game, since they will be losing some goals, or that line will continue to pump out goals providing they find the right linemate to replace Eric. If you think about it though, the S-L-F line kinda faded toward the end of the season when they were needed most.
'Tis official. So, we can anticipate seeing a USCHO mention of it in a couple weeks?![]()
(Not that our favorite journalists aren't already working on it, and probably have it almost done if not already submitted. They do their work, I can't complain about them.)
Without Selleck who is gonna burn down the CC?
This is a bitter sweet situation. It is a great opportunity for Selleck and I am glad for him. I really think he should have stayed in school. There are aspects of his game that needs work to be competing with the Pros. Hopefully his new coaches will be able to work with him.
Not that I'm implying I'm anyone's favorite journalistbut I'm actually not working on it.
One of the editors is responsible for keeping track of all players leaving early going pro. I alerted him to this news, since I'm sure they don't expect this in the D3 ranks.
I'll disagree with you there, he was absolutely dominating players most of the year. The aspects of his game that he needs to work on wouldn't have gotten much attention by staying in school. He needs to play better competition in order to improve. Of course, when Selleck did play quality teams (St. Norbert, Plattsburgh, Elmira, Adrian, etc) you saw some things he needed to improve, but unfortunately, he wouldn't really work on them for more than 5 or 6 games per year.
It'll be interesting to see how he handles the level of play because now he'll be able to really throw the body around whereas last year it seemed that most of his hits in open ice were called for some sort of penalty whether justified or not.
And finally, it's good to see he's staying in school for the rest of the semester. He could just leave campus and go home to train, but by finishing up this year, he could conceivably take classes during the offseasons to get his degree.
The editor in question completed his job.
Considering the track record of the editors on this site... that was fast![]()
