Sounds great to me. Inbev beers are trash by definition, they don't deserve higher rankings.

The bias is strong with you. Some of their holdings are very good beer, BUT they are burdened because of the parent company that owns them.

The parent company is the reason I won't drink them, as you know. Their business practices are so despicable, that I won't give them business, and on top of that, I will trash them whenever I have the chance.

In other corpy news...

I discovered that Total Wine opened in a Milwaukee suburb that I was in a couple weeks ago.

Yay!

More choices and lower prices!!!

Sorry, but the little ****hole liquor stores rarely have what I'm looking for.

Now if we could just get Binny's up here.

Another place I won't give business to. Everything I want for good beer shows up at local places, I don't need to patronize a store with questionable business practices.

I respect your stance.

The rums I'm looking for generally cannot be found at local places.

I AM with bbdl on Total Wine. I know enough little stores (and have 1-2 that are very good to me) in the way of rarer beer. I refuse to shop at Total Wine. I feel a little bad about shopping at Liquor Boy, but they are not predatory that I know of, or if they are, they are not even close to the level as Total Wine. Even then, it's only when I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere else.

Re: EMERGENCY - I'm drinking and the old drinking thread is closed!

. I shop at total wine because they have the best selection with the best price. My local liquor stores kinda blow. C

I've been in your area, and I agree, your stores are not great. I'm lucky in that regard.

Knowing your taste in rum, and liquor is a bit different than craft beer as far as businesses....understandable. Being a whiskey guy as for liquor, the rare ones are ones that even Total Wine rarely if ever gets, anyway (Pappy, Stagg Sr, etc).

Re: EMERGENCY - I'm drinking and the old drinking thread is closed!

Stop calling it Stagg Sr. It's just Stagg.

Sorry. Many people have made the mistake of assuming, so I clarify right off the bat.

Edit: I saw Stagg at this store!!!!!!!!! Oh wait, Stagg Jr. Nevermind. (countless times)

Re: EMERGENCY - I'm drinking and the old drinking thread is closed!

I mean, the bottles aren't even CLOSE to the same style. And you better help us kill the Stagg in Eagle River next year. It's their last bottle of it. :)

Cellars in White Bear Lake isn't far from you and that is considered a pretty good beer selection store.

Lucked into a bottle of 2015 Bourbon County Rare today...

Spendy but now I'm content. Probably will have buyers remorse at some point.

Anyone familiar with the Heaven's Hill Whisky that provided the barrels? Can't say I've heard of it, but I'm not familiar with much A-list whisky.

Re: EMERGENCY - I'm drinking and the old drinking thread is closed!

Heaven hill is good. They also make Elijah Craig among others. Typically higher in wheat than rye.

And just hope the Rare didn't turn sour like most of the BCS beers did last year. I haven't HEARD of the Rare being infected, but it's very possible it was.
