ECACHOCKEY 2012-13 Season: One of the strongest leagues in college hockey?

And BTW Niagara is skating circles around everyone anyway!

Keep in mind this thread says "one of the strongest leagues in college hockey" not the strongest. Looking at the other leagues I see a very down CCHA this year beside the Irish and Miami. Hockey East is also very top heavy with UNH, BC, and BU. Otherwise HE is not performing all that well with Lowell, Maine, and Vermont all really struggling. Right now the ECAC is definitely the strongest conference from top to bottom. However, it is very early in the season and until they start sending teams consistently to the frozen four they won't get respect.

There seems to be a glaring omission in this post.

Clue: It starts with a "W", ends with an "A", and there are two letters in between.

I did some research on stats, power rankings and everything. There is an apology that I must make:

There's really an ECAC conference? Ha! That's so cute.

As an ECAC fanatic and believer: stop making these threads this early. If the ECAC is still doing this well come mid-January, then we have something to talk about. That being said, I do like the direction the league is headed as a whole in terms of performance out-of-league; too early to tell for sure.

To fans of other leagues: we get it, the EZAC sucks, what with it's competitiveness from top to bottom instead of being top-heavy because of two or three stellar teams. Let everyone enjoy their in-league matches and give it a rest.

Oh God...it's that time of the year when some clueless poster comes up with threads like this eh? Can we please leave these posts till April? Yes, April, when and if we have a team in Pittsburgh? Smh...

Seriously... at least I waited until after the Regionals to post about the NCHC...

Haha Yea I definitely forgot to mention the WCHA (not on purpose). They are strong again this year but the ECAC has faired well against them so far although it's a very small sample size to compare. CC is 2-3 against them with 3 out of those 5 games coming at home for CC. Denver is 0-1 against the ECAC with a home series later in the season against Cornell. Minn. St. tied and won against RPI at home.

It's too late to go back. Just grab some popcorn, and enjoy the fireworks.

What is it? WYNA? Say it slowly :)

Re: ECACHOCKEY 2012-13 Season: One of the strongest leagues in college hockey?

This reminds me of the comments last year about the CCHA and how they were by far the best conference because they had five teams in the tourney. By Saturday night they only had one of the eight teams left. Of course the ECAC is one of the strongest conferences in college hockey, because they are one of 5 conferences. Just remember ECAC fans don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Don't lump all of us in with these morons, please.

Too late, we all should have stayed out of it while we had the chance, the moth to the flame syndrome, rubberneckers, whatever you want to call it.
