ECAC-West rebranding as the UCHC, kicking out the SUNY Schools

Re: ECAC-West rebranding as the UCHC, kicking out the SUNY Schools

Anyone giving credence to the political statements of "any family earning under $125,000/ year will be able to go to a state school for free."

That would change D3 hockey overnight, imo. If it becomes law.

Hockey would definitely be one of the sports with the most complicated impacts as hockey has a) a lot of international players for whom that would not apply and b) good hockey players tend to come from higher-income families who can afford to push their kids along in a sport with high fixed costs (skates, pads [especially goalies] sticks, an energy-sucking rink) compared to sports like soccer and basketball where the costs are lower so some players would not qualify for that aid.

To an extent, the same would apply for Lacrosse.
