ECAC Quarterfinals, 3/16/13

Re: ECAC Quarterfinals, 3/16/13

Let me also say, we've been there. I remember back in 2008 when Harvard beat QU 11-0 in game 1 of the Quarters. And Rand was annoyed that Harvard's top PP line was on the ice then, too. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with it then, and there's nothing wrong with it now.

You can't bench your top guys in hockey.

There's a game tomorrow. You think Quinnipiac should bench its top guys, thereby tiring out the bottom 6 forwards for a winner-take-all game tomorrow night? That's not intelligent hockey.

And, yes, our top PP guys were on in an 8-0 game. You know why? We hadn't been getting a lot of PP time, and our PP hasn't been very good. They need to get work in.

Here's a novel idea: You don't want Quinnipiac to score? Stop the puck.

I wasn't suggesting benching them; I was more referring to Pecknold putting out the #1 PP unit. "They need to get work in"? There's classy hockey for you. I don't condone Cornell taking cheap shots but Q has it coming if they're going to keep treating this like power play practice to pad the Jones brothers' stats.

Should be fun times tomorrow night. May the better playing team win-Congrats to Q tonight. They came out flying & ready to play. That's what the game is supposed to be about.

Again, if you don't want Quinnipiac to score, stop the puck. Quinnipiac isn't shooting on an empty net.

Yes, but they're also shooting on a backup goalie who has seen about 3 minutes of total playing time in his entire 4-year career prior to this game.

Explain to me why and how that's Quinnipiac's problem.

He's an NCAA Division-I goaltender. He's perfectly capable of stopping the puck.

Re: ECAC Quarterfinals, 3/16/13

I'd say that should be your issue with Schafer, that he played the backup that little. That's not Quinnipiac's problem.

Now I go go suffer my 10th surrender to advertising, "What can Brown to for you?" Mr. Jack Daniel's. for sure
Let's hope both teams come out tomorrow & play a solid game & may the team win. Go Cornell!
