yup, guarantees it. I'm not sure how much it helps them, but there may be some scenario in which it helps them. It's just not obvious to me which that is.RPI winning this one helps Cornell in the bigger picture (probably not enough to prevent Cornell from needing to win the championship) but they will remain a TUC. Correct?
Returning Olympians allowed to play now?

I think all of the Finns who were away at the Olympics returned this weekend, as did Tomcikova (Slovakia) at Bemidji St.The Swiss Olympians played this weeken, as did, I beleive, Raty for Minny.
In order to play, they'd have to be full-time students. And if they did, as others have said, they would lose a full year of eligibility. I believe Jocelyne Larocque of UMD is the only person who missed time because of centralization that returned to play a partial season, and she started after the new year.Wondering about Harvard, Clarkson and Cornell. ECAC. Have a feeling, as you say, all red-shirted. Assume then we will see them again next year-say, Rebecca Johnston for Cornell?

The Lamoureux twins are full time students now, but they can't play in any case because this is their sit-out year as WCHA transfers. It makes more sense on the men's side to just play a few games if the player isn't planning to stay for a full 4 years anyway.IIRC, Paul Kariya played after the Olympics. I don't know how he became a fulltime student but it was Maine.
No, Paul played 12 games of the first semester before leaving to play for the Canadian Olympic team. As I recall, Shawn Walsh tried to convince Paul to return after the Olympics, but he declined. However, the Ferraro twins did return after playing on the US Olympic team and played 4 games for Maine. They were the reason Maine gave BU a fight in the HE Quarterfinals, but it appeared to me that they players they replaced were very upset by it. The twins left to play in the pros the following season.IIRC, Paul Kariya played after the Olympics. I don't know how he became a fulltime student but it was Maine.
