ECAC Playoffs: Dartmouth @ RPI 3/7-9/14

Re: ECAC Playoffs: Dartmouth @ RPI 3/7-9/14

It might not be on RPITV but I believe it will be the RPITV feed being viewed through America One. It is not like America One sends crews to the venues they stream.

They severely deteriorate the quality of any stream with the exception of professional SD TV feeds, or so I've heard.

Thanks for the shoutout and assuming I figured out every breakdown correctly! :p

What color is the goal light? RED. Let's kick Dartmouth's Big Green ***.

Only problem with that is our off ice officials have a tendency to inappropriately turn on the goal light for our opponents...

You know, that was one thing I noticed when I went to Lynah, was that they didn't turn on the goal light when RPI scored. And they were quite viewable from my vantage point.

Oh god, Dumas (mispronounced). Let's not let the refs be a factor. Keep the stupid penalties to a minimum (maybe Guy can take one tonight and Bo can handle tomorrow).

There are so few goals for either team that when the lights burn out we don't notice for months... ;)

I'm still trying to wrap my head around green lights for goals, rather than red. That makes no sense to me at all.

Re: ECAC Playoffs: Dartmouth @ RPI 3/7-9/14

Let's not kid ourselves, RPI is the underdogs this weekend for a plethora of reasons.

I don't think Dartmouth can skate with you. They are very tough when they can be physical and when they can apply their strong forecheck without worrying too much about quick transition. I think your forwards will open them up like a tin can.

(I am all for this since we lined up against them so terribly... by all means please get rid of them.)

Sounds like they put the wrong cover on the light.

It's been true for a while. It's very off-putting -- I have a Pavlovian reaction to seeing the green light come on and thinking (stoppage / wave off), so I haven't "felt" like we've scored at home in about five years.

I have a similar problem where I'm at a perfect angle where I stand at the HFH such that I can see straight outside. Every once in a while I'll see a tail light go by in the general vicinity of the goal and have a mini heart attack.

If I'm remembering the geometry of HFH right, you've gotta be practically sitting on a rafter! :)

Leaving home shortly for the drive up to the school, does anybody know if this will be a sellout? I'm trying to convince my son to stick around for the game.

Doubt it. Spring break + it's not Union, Cornell or Clarkson. It will be a decent amount but not a sellout.

Purportedly, AmericaOne / B2 sent an HD encoder, so the games should be available in HD. Quality should be similar to the ECAC Championship broadcast from 2012, which I thought that had above average to "good" quality.

Will confirm when I see it with my own eyes!

Have seen Dumas often down here in NJ at baker Rink-there is no way to keep him from being a factor. It is not only limited to what penalties he calls, or even the penalties he does not call-there is just so much more that he does inadequately. One can only hope.

Maybe just throw Wood in there tonight and have him take care of the whole weekend's worth to get them out of the way?

I guess the word got out that their product is ****poor. I still don't know why the EZ$$ demands them when all the schools have stream capabilities on their own.
