ECAC Pick the Standings 2016-2017

Vaportrail, has opened up a 10 point lead over Rainman with QU2201 another 2 points back. The Fan Average has dropped into a tie for 15th and The Random Number has dropped into a tie for 54th. In the Battle for the Bottom, Rjm7272 continues the healthy lead over lugnut92 with Colskate65 getting back into this battle.

WOW, we have a change at the top with a tie between 2 contestants. Last weeks leader Vaportrail has fallen into 3rd place as Dutchman has clawed his way up from 8th and jstadts has rocketed up from 20th into a tie for first place with only 2 weeks to go in the season. Last weeks 2nd and 3rd place contestants, Rainman and QU2201 have fallen into 6th and 10 place respectively. The Fan Average has dropped into a tie for 19th and The Random Number remains in 54th place. In the Battle for the Bottom, Rjm7272 continues the healthy lead over lugnut92.

With only one weekend left in the Regular Season, jstadts is now in sole possession of 1st followed closely by Vaportrail 2 points back and Dutchman 6 points back. The Fan Average has risen slightly into 17th and The Random Number is up one slot to 53rd place. In the Battle for the Bottom, Rjm7272 continues the healthy lead over lugnut92.

One night to go in the Regular Season and we have a dead heat at the top, Dutchman and jstadts, Union and RPI with Vaportrail only 6 points behind. Looking like Rjm7272 has last place locked down.

It is all over but the congrats. To Hahvad and Union for sharing the ECAC Cleary Cup as Regular Season champs (Harvard gets the #1 seed due to the better record against Top 4), to jstadts, the 2016-2017 ECAC Pick The Standings Champ and to Rjm7272 the 2016-2017 ECAC Pick The Standings Last Place Finisher. There was a 3 way tie for 2nd, The Fan Average and The Coaches finished in a tie for 18th, The Media finished in 28th and The Random Number finished in 55th place.

jstadts correctly picked 5 of the 12 teams finishes (the most in the contest) and was off by 1 on one other team.

2nd place finishers 1988 and Vaportrail both picked 0 of the 12 teams in the correct finish but had 6 of the 12 teams finish off by only 1, the most in the contest.

The team that cost the most points to the contestants was UNION with an average of 28.46 points. RPI and Princeton followed with an average of 20.09 and 18.77 points respectively.

The team that cost the least amount of points to the contestants was Brown at an average of 2.71 points followed close behind by Dartmouth @ 3.48 avg points and Colgate @ 3.50 avg points.

So here are the final standings in the contest. I am not sure if I will continue this next year. It has been a great time for me these last 15 years.
