Very odd stats so far Vic. Almost every year the 5-12 series and the 6-11 series are picked with the widest margin. The 7-10 and 8-9 are often too close to call whether it be by a 2-0 or 2-1 decision. This year it seems that the opposite is happening. Just goes to show how wild and crazy this season has been in the ECAC. I do not think this will get any easier as we progress through the rounds.

Of course most are selecting #10 over #7.

I agree. Princeton defeats Cornell twice in the Regular Season yet most people are picking Cornell.
Not many like Clarkson since Bruno got a Regular Season win and tie but those games could have gone Clarkson's way with a few breaks.
SLU to me comes down to does Flanagan play. If not Colgate has to be a prohibitive favorite yet is not the fans choice. Guess most assume Flanagan will be recovered from the appendicitis operation to play and play at his top form.
Dartmouth should be a big favorite over Harvard and they are but this Harvard team is a total enigma and I would not put it past them to beat Dartmouth.

And now given the Big Snow that is due to blow into New England tonight and tomorrow (some reports are calling for 2 feet west of Boston tomorrow into Friday), Clarkson is gonna have one heck of a time making it to Providence unless they left today.

If Goulakis plays it's huge for Colgate also.

I forgot about that, thanks. This weekend should be really something. Too bad we can't watch the games for free on the internet. Looks like I'm gonna have to fork over some bucks to America One this weekend. All the ECAC Playoff Series are available thru America One for a price.

I see it exactly that way. Except-SLU is a good team even without Flanagan. But with him, I certainly would not wager against them-especially if these games end up with a lot of special teams play. As far as whether he is ready to play-an appendectomy which is totally uncomplicated is a simple operation. I have seen NHL players back and playing in 10 days. We certainly do not know anything about the pre op condition-are we talking about something more complicated? Did the surgery go without a hitch? Was it laporascopic or did they have go back to the older method of open excision to look at something else? Best case scenario-he is ready now and could be 100% for friday. If this required a bit more investigation-he could still have his stitches in (lower right abdomen the standard used to be leave them in for 10 days). I am sure that the coaching staff will take no chances with any young man. Personally-i expect to see him on the ice over the weekend. Perhaps not for friday-but more likely saturday or even sunday if needed (unless things get delayed a day by the snow and then the likelihood is even greater).
