With or without Backman Yale still has the horses to put the puck in the net. They have been a scoring machine all season long. Their problem has been in goal. They have rotated four guys and have yet to find anyone capable of playing at a championship level. They have yielded four or more goals in eleven games, most of which they won, but this vulnerability has to be of concern to Yale followers as they go against the better opponents.

I have been a Yale admirer all season long but I sense a possible upset in the upcoming series against Brown. The Bruins are playing well and will score against Yale. If Clemente gets in a zone, as he did against Harvard last year and against various opponents this year, Yale could be in trouble.

Backman played on a line with Yale's outstanding freshman, Andrew Miller, whose role was to get the puck to Backman......and Miller did this very well. However with Backman gone I think you'll see Miller take over as a goal scorer which he has been in spades everywhere he's played.

Yale will probably pull this one out but I wouldn't bet the house on it.
