Re: ECAC Pick 'em -- Week 14
I'm going to try and forecast each individual game this weekend, given how tight the standings are:
Friday, February 26:
Yale at Princeton -- Kalemba showed last weekend that he's still the Dryden Award winner. He'll keep it going as the team fights for playoff home ice.
Brown at Quinnipiac -- while Brown has more momentum right now, I just think the Bobcats have more offensive firepower than the Bears.
RPI at Colgate -- toss-up homer pick here. Both teams are gunning for a bye, but RPI has question marks regarding Allen York and their meltdown last Saturday against Princeton.
Union at Cornell -- a HUGE game with PWR implications on the line. I think Scrivens and the Lynah faithful will backstop the Red to a win here.
Dartmouth at St. Lawrence -- both teams were involved in shootout games last weekend. That said, the Green didn't lose, and will ride momentum from their victory over Cornell.
Harvard at Clarkson -- both teams got swept last weekend, but Harvard has more to play for than Clarkson.
Saturday, February 27:
Brown at Princeton -- another battle for seeding in the bottom of the standings, but again, I think Princeton has the slight advantage here.
Yale at Quinnipiac -- Bulldogs clinch 1st place in a game played not too far from New Haven.
Union at Colgate -- Another homer pick of sorts. Based on my Friday results, both teams would already be locked into 3rd and 4th, so my pick is based on series history, especially in Hamilton.
RPI at Cornell -- No big implications here based on my Friday picks, but I think the home crowd will give Cornell the 4-pt weekend.
Harvard at St. Lawrence -- It'll be interesting to see if the Saints drop this game just to avoid a 1st-round series with Clarkson. But I can't see Harvard sweeping on the road, especially in the North Country.
Dartmouth at Clarkson -- The Clarkson seniors win their last ever home game against a team they surprisingly defeated on the road.
