ECAC in the NCAAs 2019

Re: ECAC in the NCAAs 2019

No doubt about it: the ECAC was a meat-grinder this year from top to bottom, as shown by how tight the standing were on the final weekend of the regular season. That said, the conference as a whole didn't have the greatest record against OOC competition (43-46-6).

Any of the four teams could make it to the F4, but (and it truly pains me to say this) I think Quinnipiac has the best shot.

The key is what are these four teams OOC record (or even their record against the field)? Who cares at this stage what the rest of the conference did OOC.

As I understand it, Clarkson has the best record of the 16 against the field of 16 -- 6-2-1.

Fair point. I was responding to a comment regarding the strength of the league...so the league OOC record was relevant.

ECAC Tourney teams OOC records:
Clarkson: 13-3
Cornell: 7-5
Harvard: 6-3-1
Quinnipiac: 11-3

Records of those in the ECAC vs the rest of the field:
Clarkson: 6-3-1
Cornell: 5-3-2
Harvard: 4-6
Quinnipiac: 6-3-1

Record vs non-ECAC teams in the tournament:
Clarkson: 2-0 (wins vs UMD & ASU)
Cornell: 2-0 (2 wins vs ASU)
Harvard: 1-1 (split with ASU)
Quinnipiac: 3-1 (2 wins vs AIC, 1-1 vs UMass)

Re: ECAC in the NCAAs 2019

I think that Union is partially responsible for the ECAC's showing. They had a great OOC record and a relative mediocre conference record. That should have the effect of pushing up the rest of the league.

Agree 100%. Union still almost make it.

Re: ECAC in the NCAAs 2019

Heading to Manchester NH tomorrow to cheer on Harvard and Clarkson. If they both win we are certain of at least one team in the FF. Would love to see Harvard knock off UMASS, 4-3 (OT) and Clarkson shutting out Notre Dame, 3-0.

Wow, I did not realize SLU was 3-15 in the NCAA tournament.. so other then there National championship appearance, they have only won on one other occasion in the NCAA tournament. Cool page there, thanks.

SLU was also 1-1 in the 1961 NCAA Final Four. They are a two time National Runner-Up.

The first table was teams while in the ECAC.

This table is current ECAC members, all-time records.

In each case you have to play USCHO's dumb little link game or just re-edit the 's' out of "https" in the link.

Except, sh-t, now that I look I see I've neglected the pre-1962 results in table 2, and the 1981 tie. It's late. That will come.

Re: ECAC in the NCAAs 2019

Does anyone know if the Northeast Regional games will be livestreamed to Canada? We were able to watch the season games on Stretch Internet - International viewers, but as of this morning, the link for today's games is not up.

This is the NCAA's show so anything the ECAC did during the season won't apply.

You can check if ESPN might have streams available.
