Re: ECAC, Friday 12/2

Cornell game opens with a 5/GM to an SLU player for contact to the head, but Cornell can't score on the pp.

Re: ECAC, Friday 12/2

1-0 Cornell after one period, Big Red outshot the Saints 11-2.

Re: ECAC, Friday 12/2

Clarkson 1
Colgate 1
End 1st

Knights scored first, Jarrett Burton, then Colgate evened on a 5x3 goal from Chris Wagner

Re: ECAC, Friday 12/2

Cornell still up 1-0 after 2.

After the lackluster major penalty, I thought Cornell played very well in the 1st. In the 2d, they were pretty dominant in the St. Lawrence power plays early, but never really go organized as the period progressed. Obviously with only a one goal lead, any defensive let down could be disastrous. I'm thinking in general Cornell has played better (shots 19-4), but the game is far from secure.

Re: ECAC, Friday 12/2

Good third period for SLU (that's all I heard, but 4 SOG through 2 doesn't look too good!). 1-0 final.

No Flanagan, no Hughes, no Wick . . . all in all, I'd say that was actually a pretty good effort, especially late in the game, and especially by Weninger. No points for trying hard, but giving up one goal to Cornell and staying in it for 60 minutes are positives.

SLU controlled the third period. Both teams had bad puck luck -- it could easily have been a 3-2 game.
